McCain refers to 'tea party hobbits,' blasts Bachmann-backed idea (Worthless RINO Alert)

On the same day that House Speaker John Boehner told Republicans to "Get your asses in line" and support his debt ceiling proposal, Sen. John McCain also blasted fellow Republicans.

In a Senate floor speech laced with sarcasm and stings, the Arizona Republican aimed especially harsh fire at the tea party Wednesday.

McCain said the movement is "foolish" to think a balanced budget amendment could pass before the August 2 deadline. At one point, McCain read from an op-ed in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal. That article referred to activists as "tea party hobbits" – the little people who inhabit Middle-earth in the Lord of the Rings series.

McCain – 2008's Republican presidential nominee – also blasted as "bizarre" an idea supported by current GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, though McCain did not mention her by name.

McCain's fiery language comes amid competing Democratic and Republican plans to reduce the deficit.

McCain also blasted Democrats in his speech. He called the plan from Majority Leader Harry Reid "full of smoke and mirrors," and said President Barack Obama is leading "from behind" by not offering "a specific plan that perhaps could be considered by both bodies."

We need to go to washington this september 12th just to say hello to John Mc Stain!

I’m sick of these weak progressive republicans looking down at us conservatives as if WE are the problem!

John McCain is known for three things:

1) His Presidential bid (which he failed)
2) His Amnesty proposal (which failed)
3) His Tobacco deal (which failed)

Maybe you should reconsider your positions there John.

The hobbits were the good guys, McCain. They lived peaceful lives and didn’t try to lord it over everybody. Whereas your ilk would feel right at home with the policies of Barad-dur.

Hey...we can work with this.

Remember, those scruffy Hobbits brought down Sauron (Obama? Soros?)

Obviously, Sarah Palin is Arwen Evenstar. That would make Todd Strider.

I'm not sure who would be Gandolf, but McStain is definitely Sauroman the traitor.

McCain=Senator Senility. I hope he hasn’t a dog at home.

Get it through your concrete block head Mr. McPain you ARE a representative of the people. The people DON’T WANT COMPROMISE. Your job is to not want compromise either, because the people say you don’t. Do as you are elected, and paid to do. Represent the people.

Let him keep shooting his big mouth off. Sadly freedom of speech works for all, it’s just RINOS like him need to know there are consequences when they do turn traitor on their own party. If he chooses to run again, he will lose votes by opening his mouth.

He is taking his hostility out on us for not having been elected. The worm will soon turn. I hope he has something lined up before next election cycle.

Well, well, well...aren’t we forgetting (4) a trophy wife and (5) a daughter who, although dumb as oatmeal, has some pretty good bazooms???/s;)

McCain is almost as bad as Bozo IMO. Worse in some respects because he hides behind the Republican mantel.....and his wife’s skirt. I firmly believe she wears the pants in that family.
