HOUSTON -- If Texas Gov. Rick Perry runs for president, the type of crowd that attends a seven-hour prayer rally in a football stadium would not be disappointed.

Held in the venue where the Houston Texans play, more than 25,000 people here attended "The Response," an event that was part prayer service, part

If Texas Gov. Rick Perry runs for president and wipes the floor with Barack "Downgrade" Obama, little leftist twits like Carrie Dann who write sniggering articles about Christians for PMSDNC will be very disappointed.

Most of the comments on this story at the link provided are so hateful towards the event and Christianity that you just have to call them evil.

If liberals are so tolerant, then why do they care if 25,000 people gather in Christ’s name on a Saturday afternoon...unless their Master felt a disturbance in his power. I love to see the power of God!

Final count...30,000+....and what an event it was. Our youth was so inspiring that it renewed my faith.

I admit I missed the old gospel music, but this has helped me deal with the fact our youth are the future. And tho we had a great past, they will pave their own roads to glorify HIM. And glorify HIM they did today.

Made me stand up several times and yell ‘YA HOOTIE! YOU GO GUYS!’

“No thanks. Not interested in a Dubya clone.”

We’ve pretty much debunked that argument this week. Perry’s worse.

Perry's audience Saturday was filled with people who sang with arms outstretched in prayer — and wept — as Christian groups played music on stage. And Perry, himself, huddled on the stage in a prayer circle with several ministers who helped lead the event. It was Perry's idea and was financed by the American Family Association, a Tupelo, Miss.-based group that opposes abortion and gay rights and believes that the First Amendment freedom of religion applies only to Christians.

His appeal to the religious through cheesy antics such as the event chronicled here is akin to Dubya’s MO. Not going to fall for that scam again.

liberals are not tolerant.

They’re the same as the people who want to CONTROL OUR FAITH and OUR LIVES.

Now who that could be?
