Jackson, Mississippi (CNN) -- On a recent Sunday morning just before dawn, two carloads of white teenagers drove to Jackson, Mississippi, on what the county district attorney says was a mission of hate: to find and hurt a black person.
In a parking lot on the western side of town they found their victim.
James Craig Anderson, a 49-year-old auto plant worker, was standing in a parking lot, near his car. The teens allegedly beat Anderson repeatedly, yelled racial epithets, including "White Power!" according to witnesses.
Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith says a group of the teens then climbed into their large Ford F250 green pickup truck, floored the gas, and drove the truck right over Anderson, killing him instantly.
Mississippi officials say it was a racially motivated murder. What the gang of teens did not know was that a surveillance camera was focused on the parking lot that night, and many of the events, including the actual murder of Anderson, were captured live on videotape.

Yes, I think a little vigilante justice is in order to help the community heal.
Two points:
These vicious creeps deserve all that’s coming to them and more. The death penalty is too good for them.
However, I can’t help thinking that CNN has pushed this story to serve as a counter to the recent spate of stories involving flash mobs of Black kids attacking whites; stories that CNN has chosen, in their journalistic wisdom, not to cover.
Scum are scum. I volunteer to push the plunger/needle/whatever if any of these vermin get the death sentence.

I agree with you. Unfortunately racism is still out there. I saw it years ago when I lived in the deep South. Where I lived they thought the deep South was Florida. I was about 4 hours from the Gulf of Mexico.
So CNN found a racial story to tell? Was it in Milwaukee?
And in the middle of that’’beating’’ and ‘’intimidating’’, what if the mob happens to kill someone?
You’re confusing CNN with a news outlet instead of what it really is - at center-left elitist propaganda distribution network.

Too bad CNN doesn’t treat black gangs of racists who attack and kill whites with the same societial racial condemnation.
Be nice if they would start condemning the racist diversity teachers in the pulbic schools, demand an end to racially exclusive organizations, and systematic racial preferences, too.
Their double standard of respect for human life makes it difficult for young people to listen to them.
Sometimes the mobs have killed, and they didn’t care if the person being beat down died. That’s murder.
But the white power boys set out to kill a black man. That’s Murder One.
The black mobs are dangerous, a deadly danger. The white boys in this case are murderous.

The black mobs are like a vicious idiot who goes out to shoot anything moving, not hunting, just for mayhem and thrill.

If you guage the distance that the most extreme ultra-right Americans are from the center, CNN is three times that far from the center in the other direction.

Really? And if someone gets knocked down and lands awkwardly, a la Natasha Richardson, will the mob be charged with intimidation or murder or manslaughter? There’s no difference between the inner city flash mobs and what these white kids did. The hate is all the same, it just gets reported differently by the media.
