Judith L. Corley of the Perkins Cole law firm wrote to Loretta J. Fuddy of the Hawaii Department of Health on April 22, 2011 on behalf of Mr. Obama requesting certified copies of his actual birth certificate. In it she stated she was representing Mr. Obama and was requesting copies of his actual birth certificate which “would allow my client to make a certified copy of his original birth certificate publicly available....”
The stated purpose of the request was to make the birth certificate “publicly available” and Fuddy, in complying, was acknowledging that it would be made publicly available. There can be no doubt that Mr. Obama has waived his right of privacy in this matter.
