Is this the super congress we’re talking about? because if so, you can count on their being tax increases.
But that’s ok, because tax increases would just be the final nail in the coffin of the economy and completely doom Obama.
To: GreaterSwiss
This was the whole point of the supercommittee.
trust me on that.
The GOP will say they had little choice but to vote on the recommendation without debate or amendment. Plus if they vote NO there will be big defense and other cuts.
The fix was in people.

Dear GOP,
We can’t stop you from committing suicide as a party. Go for it. The sooner the charade is ended the better. You seem to want to destroy yourselves.

Everybody on that panel should walk into the room with that same attitude: we have a big problem, we’re going to find a way out of it, nothing has been ruled in or out.
Otherwise, it’s gridlock and a total waste of time.
Wouldn’t you want Pelosi’s appointees to say, “I haven’t ruled out entitlement cuts” or “we have to look at drastically slashing government spending — everything is on the table”?

On MSNBC they keep saying Democrats need ‘one patriotic Republican to join the six Democrats to fix our deficit’
As Biden said, patriotic is paying higher taxes.
Boehner said this is 95% of what he wanted.

Thanks for posting. Looks like CNBC is keying off an interview Rep. Camp did with
Reuters:
"I don't want to rule anything in or out," Camp said. "I am willing to discuss all issues that might help us reduce our short and long-term debt and grow our economy," Camp said.
"Everything is on the table, until we as a group rule it out," he said. The economy and jobs are priorities, he added.
"Economic growth and job creation in the private sector -- that's what we need to use as a benchmark about any policy, but particularly tax policy," Camp said.

The fix is in. The current political masters on both sides of the isle are taking America down. The Evil Party and the Stupid Party have joined hands.
Boehner caved. We held all the cards and could have stopped all this by freezing the spending at current levels. Oh, no. We "needed" a deal. Boehner and McConnell folded a royal flush to a pair of deuces and threw the Republic in.

Republicans: Do what the Democrats do. Recommend
Targeted Revenue enhancements
I suggest that Republicans say "OK, we favor increasing revenues to reduce the debt. We propose targeted revenue enhancements. We will draft our "Fair Revenue Enhancement to Reduce the Debt Act" which taxes at a modest 45% (forty five percent) of the assets of such businesses and groups as:
- Television News Anchors and regulars - eg. like the salary of Katie Couric at $20 million, Chrissie Matthews at what, $2 million?;
- Members of the Film, TV and Performing Industries - eg. like the net assets of Barbra Streisand, Ed Asner, Alec Baldwin, Jon Stuart (Stewart?) , etc. How many of them have multiple homes worth gazillions?
Like Bruce Springsteen who claims his estate as a farm in order to take a big tax cut,
Talk about the rich. Who is richer than these creeps?
- College and University Professors - College costs have increased way, way over the rate of inflation and Professors have tenure - they can never be fired;
- Professional Athletes. - in particular, Basketball players, football wide receivers, defensive backs and running backs.
- Late Night Comedians - especially those with stables of exotic collector's automobiles worth tens of millions of dollars.
- Agents and legal representatives of above.
- Trial Lawyers - They get millions but hire no one - they do NOT create jobs.
- Pundits - They make millions but create no jobs;
- any others?
Who can deny that members of the above are:
- way above "Middle Class?"
- "Winners in Life's Lottery?"
- Good Citizens whose Patriotic Duty is to "Give something back" to the country that has given them so much?
Targeted Revenue enhancements
Targeted Revenue enhancements
Targeted Revenue enhancements
For God's sake Republicans figure it out, just once!

You know, there is one (AND ONLY ONE) tax increase I could honestly support, and that is that EVERYONE who files a Federal tax return pay something, even if it’s only 1%. This 40+% of filers who don’t pay anything are going to be the death of the Republic yet (parasite class growing).

This committee is complete waste of time.
We know what they’re going to say: raise taxes, cut the military, spend more on social programs.
