President Barack Obama collected some big bucks Thursday night at a star-studded fund-raiser in the New York home of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Among the guests: actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin; comedian Jimmy Fallon, designer Vera Wang, singer Alicia Keys, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who co-hosted the event. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was also there as the guests packed around five tables in a basement room. Hundreds of people awaited the president's arrival on the streets of the West Village near the Weinstein residence, a multi-story brick row house. Weinstein said he had been trying to persuade his wife for three years to have a housewarming party and it had taken Obama to make it happen. "This is a pretty good-looking crowd," Obama said.

Gwyneth Paltrow....ha...American Born and has a fake British accent (often during interviews)...it was funny seeing the movie studios and C&W radio jocks that could be bought off by perks trying to hawk that damned “Country Strong” movie...I guess since Tim McG was in it, they felt they could get away with it. Horrible!

The city is in a budget crunch. Fellow Dims or not, I’m surprised the Obama campaign is not getting a bill from the city for special services rendered.

Are these unionized city workers doing the towing, or some private firm benefiting from a huge city contract? Either way, no telling what kickbacks and/or overtime were paid just so Bambi could haul his arse up there.

Why don’t they just give all their money to the government and be done with it.

. . .

I often wonder that myself. I guess they’re lazy and want the government to come take it.

There are 453 days till the election. He will have to raise this amount every single day till election. I don’t see it happening.

The short fall in the ones campaign cash will be made up by his puppet master, uncle george soros.

Since the bummer has been bought and paid for by george and his pals, they will spend whatever is required to keep the one in power.

If soros sends me two million in cash, I'll promise to vote for the bummer, but he'll never know.

From the link..0bama quote..

He said change takes time, and compared today’s struggles to those of the civil rights movement. He said he will dedicate the new Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Washington on Aug. 28 and had already flown over it.

“Now that King has his own memorial on the Mall, I think that we forget when he was alive there was nobody who was more vilified, nobody who was more controversial, nobody who was more despairing at times. There was a decade following the great successes of Birmingham and Selma which was just struggle,” he said. “What he understood, what kept him going was that the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice. But it doesn’t bend on its own… it takes time, and it is hard work and it has its frustrations.”

He’s comparing himself to MLK. Sickening.

We knew Martin Luther King, you pos...and you are NO Martin Luther King!!!!!

HAHAHAHA!!!

I'm sure the MoveOn and DailyKos folks just think it's lovely that Zero is charging 30K a plate while we have a destroyed economy, millions out of work, a stock market that is as unstable as Lindsey Lohan.

These people are utter fools!!!

Both King and Obama are Commies....so they fit in the C pod together. Unless....you’re as ignorant as Glenn Beck and think MLK really gave a good Shitte about his fellow man?
How’s that Affirmative Action working for you? How’s that diversity working for you...wake up, MLK was a Commie liar and scammer.

What’s with this mass “towing” anyhow — surely this was known about for weeks in advance, and if the city wanted to make the experience halfway humane for car owners,

Maybe this will help you: r-e-v-e-n-u-e.

This is the kind of crap that happens in totalitarian countries. Private property means nothing to fascists and communists. Just get the stuff out of sight so dear fascist leader won’t be waylaid from his date with adulation by simpleton toadies.

Whoever ordered these vehicles removed should be...

Next time fascist leader comes around, roads should be obstructed with vehicles, burning garbage and piles of debri.

That explanation would suffice — except that, reportedly, nobody was ticketed. It would have been a lucrative deal for tow truck operators paid by the city by the hour. But I think the city just liked the idea of pushing the little people (’s cars) around. Doubtless the official explanation was to obviate the possibility of any car bombs being near the presidential procession.

Even the womanizer MLK Jr., who borrowed from more or less mainstream Christian sources, seems infinitely more godly a figure than Obama. Obama is the only example I know of a person bothering to give an orthodox evangelical Christian testimony of his faith — and yet turning his back on that same testimony in virtually everything he does. There are hypocrites, and then there are through-and-through giant phonies.
