ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The timing was just right for saving the life of a 6-year-old girl and for turning a 24- year-old mechanic and father of two young daughters into a hero.
(SNIP)
Diaz Chacon is credited with saving the girl after chasing the van through a maze of neighborhoods to the edge of where Albuquerque's sprawling housing developments meet the desert. It was there where the van crashed into a pole, the suspect fled and Diaz Chacon was able to rescue the girl and take her home.

Hidden under a rock just 25 feet from the van was packing tape and a tie-down strap, police said.
Inside the impounded van were tostadas, a glove, a Leatherman tool, a black satchel, orange strapping similar to the strap found hidden under the rock, police said.
"This little girl was very lucky," police Sgt. Tricia Hoffman said. "We can only guess what would have happened to this child."

Reading what was in the van is enough to make me throw up. How can there be such monsters in the world?!
They should hang the kidnapper from a lamp post and let him rot as a warning to anyone else with the same idea.
There are liberal judges out there who will ‘understand’ the monster...
As the father of a 2 year old little girl, I could not agree more with you.
If he had done this in Britain, he would have been arrested.
I saw this on the news last night, it was a brazen act, the guy must have been desperate! Thank God, the man followed him because it doesn’t sound like this little girl would have survived.

Why isn't the headline for this story:
DAD of two becomes hero...
it would have be so much more than that....
They probably would have talked sternly to him as well!
