Yeah thats right. The deficit was reduced in the 90’s. Thats not because they worked together. Its because the Republicans won the majority of both houses and pushed the Dems aside. Against the wishes of the Dems they lowered the capital gains rate, restrained spending in general and enacted welfare reform. And it helped the economy. Had it been left up to Bill and the Dems we would have had deficits as far as the eye can see. And a less vibrant economy.

Don’t forget, part of the so called “Clinton surplus” was the extra $$ going into Soc Sec , allegedly into the trust fund. That money should NEVER have been counted in general revenue.
