Ping! I’m listening now. Check this out.
Trying to connect now, thanks!!!
(((((PING)))))
So what’s he saying?
Thanks. Hold up in Walmart right now. Lord I hate this place.
Talking a little about how he got involved, what he’s been doing, the importance of each individual in a true grassroots effort in making a difference, how this is not just about Palin but about us, and now talking about Sept. 3 and the expectations.
There was an article about the premier of "The Undefeated" in Pella, Iowa, where a supporter was asked why he was expending so much energy for a yet unannounced candidate.
IIRC his name was Singleton. Paraphrasing his reply was something like this, "Our job is to hold this piece of ground, we'll get air support or artillery when the time comes...."
He nailed in one.
Just finished listening.
That was awesome! WOO HOO!
I can’t listen.....what’s the good highlights?
An important takeaway for me was the fact that Singleton several times mentioned the number of 500,00 - 750,000 volunteer “boots on the ground” nationally to combat the traditional big-money campaign organizations — ordinary Americans reaching out to their friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc to get this job done to save our country. Looks like O4P has set goals.
He talked about Sept. 3 being a very important event. While saying he did not know specifically what Palin will say, he did say that if you’re going to Iowa fully expecting her to announce, don’t come so you won’t be disappointed. Having said that, he fully expects her to run and said it will be an important day.
Tammy made an important point: she said that while Palin is the tip of the spear (my words), once she announces it’s up to us to make this happen. This will be a campaign like no other and Tammy said her thought is that one of the reasons Palin has waited is to see if she would have the volunteer support. It must be there for her to be successful.
Good stuff.
One other thing — Singleton said that even now the media doesn’t have a clue how extensive their Iowa network is. They’re in all 99 counties.
My note: some Iowa press reports have started to pick up on this. One article I read from Iowa said that no announced candidate has an organization any more extensive than what Singleton has created from scratch.
Perfect distillation of that segment .. ;)
See AlB’s post above. Captures the essence.
It was Scott Conroy of RealClearPolitics who mentioned that O4P has people in all 99 counties in IA, vastly more than the announced campaigns
It will be very difficult But surprisingly, not impossible) to carry this state in the general election next year, but believe you can count on us to support her in the primary and at the convention!
Thanks. Singleton also compared this grassroots effort to the pre-Revolution days where ordinary citizens reached out to their friends/neighbors, etc.
Interesting point.
If this is true then I would not expect an announcement from Sarah until after the Sept debates, let the field beat each other up, shake out the wannabees, then announce and step in when the campaigning actually starts.
I also believe she will campaign on what America and Americans need from Government (less) and focus on the differences between a Palin Presidency and the Obama Presidency. The other candidates can focus on Her, she'll be focused on the Presidency.
The primaries will set the stage, she'll save the debating for One on One with Obama. Sarah wins, no contest. No other candidate will inspire and bring out the voters the way Sarah can, and will. Look for an announcement late September!
