LINWOOD - Football camaraderie and tradition. That was what the Mainland Regional High School team was looking forward to on Saturday.

Instead, it became a tragic morning when the driver of an SUV carrying eight members of the team lost control of the vehicle, which overturned several times near exit 38A southbound on the Garden State Parkway, said Sgt. Julian Castellanos, spokesman for the State Police. The accident happened about 11:45 a.m.

Really rough weekend here. Another accident on RT 40 killed two children with another two children in critical condition.

Too top it off two small planes collided with each other in mid air killing one of the pilots.

All within a 20 mile radius.

So sorry to read about this, mware. I’m ‘slightly’ familiar with the area, it’s just south of where I spend a week each summer, “Exit 63.” I know the impact this will have not only on the families and friends, but the ‘greater community.’ Prayers for all.

The last time this happen in our area was about 15 years ago.

Four football players were killed when their VW crashed. Three of the four were brothers, including the captain of the team.

M, the Bozzi father’s comment about ‘comforting’ his wife was heart-wrenching, “there’s not enough comforting in the world.” I think every parent can relate. Losing a child is something we just can’t absorb emotionally.

I’m not trying to be funny here . . . but isn’t this roughly the same place on the Parkway where Governor Corzine’s SUV crashed under mysterious circumstances a couple of years ago?

Yeah, I think it is around the same place.

Really bad curve in the road.

It's not a good idea to try to make it going over the speed limit.
