Cardinals' Holliday leaves game after moth stuck in ear

ST. LOUIS -- This was a different sort of injury bug for Matt Holliday.

A moth got stuck deep in Holliday's right ear Monday night, forcing the St. Louis Cardinals slugger out of a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Surprised they didn’t have a medico there to flush the bug out. An ordinary Water Pik set to a gentle pulse will dig out almost anything soft stuck in an ear.

That is just the most awful feeling! It feels like they are tunneling into your brain.

If you act quickly, you can usually get them out by shining a flashlight in the ear.
