nd the talk of Perry "creating jobs" gives the game away: the government cannot create jobs. The fact that Perrywinkles talk like it can shows that they are not real conservatives.

Perry and company have created and maintained an atmosphere where businesses can thrive. Regarding your California comment, Perry has been out there hustling these corporations to pack up and move to Texas. I can guarantee you that these CEOs weren't listening to some state rep. They were listening to Perry.

Perry can’t surf. His (D)epends are bloating with RINO Piddle.

You're obviously a coprophiliac. Seek help.

...and they say Palin supporters are vile and abusive?

Proof that like Perry himself, Perry supporters have no substance.

Cheers!

“Good luck with that, so far I am batting zero getting a Perry basher to either pick a candidate, or if they have, to compare their candidate’s record on the issues against Perry’s. Its all emotion and hand waiving. They are not even slightly convincing in their attempts to direct people away from Perry, in fact I think they are doing just the opposite.”

Tagline.

The others just don’t have faith in their candidate of choice, or they would be affirming them.

Oh, when they don’t answer...it usually indicates PaulBot has invaded the area or some fringe candidate who has no shot to win.

Really good job at ignoring the rest of my post: you know, about organic growth of jobs rather than the zero-sum game of taking jobs from the rest of the country.

Enjoy your astroturf.

Cheers!

He looks like ex-V.P. candidate (and running mate of John Kerry) Jonathan Edwards.

Oh yeah...they are spitting images of each other. /s

Typical TROLL behaviour on your part: choosing a photo of Perry where he is wearing a HAT to cover up the carefully coiffed hair. ("Fixin' to ride me on down to the ole' tradin' post to buy me a heap o' stylin' gel.")

Besides the hair, they both have shifty eyes.

If Perry were on FR, he'd have been banned as a Rudy-supporting troll.

Cheers!

Yeah, I'd already read it.

The typical "concern troll" crap that "Palin isn't declaring / ready / electable so I'll decided to jump from Palin to Perry, and doggone it, Perry's everything I wanted in Palin anyway" drivel.

Not buying it for a second.

Perry is a RINO: globalist, open-borders, no-parental-rights (Gardasil + bragging the legislature couldn't overturn an EO, but when they did bragging he'd "listened to the people"), Gore-supporting, Guiliani-supporting stooge who got his start thanks to Karl Rove.

Forget it.

Cheers!

CRAIG MELVIN, MSNBC anchor: Texas Governor Rick Perry comes from a state where nearly 38 percent of the population is Latino, but his aggressive stance on immigration may cost him some votes in his own backyard, should he get the nomination. He opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants

MSNBC's "Craig Melvin" probably thinks GWB and McCain are "opposed to amnesty." Melvin's job is to use race to turn leftist voters agains all GOP candidates.

I have not been able to find evidence of Perry's opposition to amesty. Does he oppose "amnesty" like Romney in 2004? "Gov. Mitt Romney expressed support yesterday for an immigration program that places large numbers of illegal residents on the path toward citizenship, but criticized any form of 'amnesty.'"

Or is he like GWB and McCain, who said a "path to citizenship" is not "amnesty?"

All major politicians, including Obama, claim they are for "securing the border." Most of them are for a "path to citizenship" at the same time.

I have been searching for a Perry immigration statement that actually says something. Here is what Perry says: "Once we secure the border, we can have a conversation about immigration reform in this country, but not until."

GTFO with that nonsense. I've been on here for over 10 years, so you can take that comment and blow it out your ass. But, let's take a deeper look at your logic. John Edwards has hair. Rick Perry has hair, therefore Rick Perry is John Edwards. You go ahead and push that logic. People will follow you! Trust me! You can do it! You look like a true leader by those comments. Really...you do.

Good post on #53....

I don’t agree with you conclusion in the second part but Palin and Perry are very close on the issues.

Ironically, some Palin supporters are treating Perry, the same exact way that the PaulBots and fringers and RINOs treated...Palin folks.....some, not all.

Not me, I’m a 100 percent Palin supporter and I like Perry as the best alternative if she doesn’t run.

Sorry, but Emperor Perry is strolling down the avenue in his Fruit of the RINO underwear.

Exactly.

Perry apologists say Perry is Pro Life. So is John McCain.

Perry apologists say Perry wants to repeal ObamaCare. So does John McCain.

Perry apologists say Perry is pro-Second Amendment. So is John McCain.

Perry apologists say Perry is pro-Life. So is John McCain.

Perry apologists say Perry is Pro Israel. So is John McCain.

Ricardo Perry is pro ILLEGAL alien. So is Juan McCain.

Perry apologists say Perry is a conservative, but only John McCain is a RINO.

"Astroturf" - do you really know what that word means, or are you seriously suggesting that you have reason to believe that I'm being paid behind the scenes to speak for a particular point of view?

Simply throwing it around like an insult - which, btw, seems to be what post of your posts are about - simply says more about you than about the person whom you're trying to insult.

On to the substance, where you're not only uneducated, you're also wrong. Considering his other views on government, I rather seriously doubt that Perry is claiming - like Obama - that his administration itself directly "created" jobs; however, what the facts bear out in spades is that the tax and regulatory policies that Perry has helped to put into place - obviously you need a legislature that works with you, not agin' you - and has helped to maintain have definitely set up conditions most favorable for private businesses to create new jobs.

That is how government "creates" jobs, it imposes the minimum amount of regulation needed and otherwise stays out of the way, which is precisely what Perry has done and has said he will continue to do.

And the results? They speak for themselves, as discussed in this WSJ article.

That article contains this useful summary of some of the positive effects Texas' government under Perry has had:

Capital—both human and investment—is highly mobile, and it migrates all the time to the places where the opportunities are larger and the burdens are lower. Texas has no state income tax. Its regulatory conditions are contained and flexible. It is fiscally responsible and government is small. Its right-to-work law doesn't impose unions on businesses or employees. It is open to global trade and competition: Houston, San Antonio and El Paso are entrepôts for commerce, especially in the wake of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Based on his conversations with CEOs and other business leaders, Mr. Fisher says one of Texas's huge competitive advantages is its ongoing reform of the tort system, which has driven litigation costs to record lows. He also cited a rule in place since 1998 in the backwash of the S&L debacle that limits mortgage borrowing to 80% of the appraised value of a home. Like a minimum down payment, this reduces overleveraging and means Texas wasn't hurt as badly by the housing crash as other states.

Sounds pretty good to me, and I'm not even getting paid to say that.

When I started noticing self-proclaimed Palin supporters here on Free Republic bashing Perry and acting really vile about it, I realized something was seriously out of whack.

I see it like this: There's a certain element of posters here who believe Sarah Palin is entitled to the Republican nomination by virtue of being Sarah Palin. She can sit on the fence as long as she likes, it doesn't matter because as soon as she throws her hat into the ring the nomination is hers for the taking and nobody better stand in her way.

To these people, Rick Perry is a threat because he's picking up support from those who would've traditionally been in Palin's camp except not only have they gotten tired of waiting, they've started to question if Palin can actually beat Obama. They've demonstrated both a lack of patience and faith that has angered and unnerved this element of Palin supporters. Hence the childish backlash and the ridiculous hyperbole that's increasingly being posted here against Perry. Governor Perry was a solid conservative prior to entering the race. Now all of the sudden, he's as much as lefty as they come, as bad as Obama. Really?

As of now, I'm in the Perry camp. Is he the most conservative candidate? No, but I believe he is the most conservative candidate that can beat Obama. The second part of this statement is very important to me. But make no mistake, if Sarah Palin earns her party's nomination, I will support her enthusiastically.
