Perryphobia
Politico ^ | August 26th, 2011 | CURT ANDERSON

Posted on 08/27/2011 6:58:43 AM PDT by shield

A wave of fear has come over Washington — and it’s not the earthquake or the hurricane. Self-appointed Republican elites, fretting Hill Republicans and left-wing carnival barkers all have one thing in common: Perryphobia.

It’s an acute condition, with different manifestations. But it has the same root cause – arrogance toward Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Let’s get this straight — with Congress being as popular as cholera, they think they are going to hurt Perry’s chances by dissing him? Really? Congress is at an all-time low, according to a new Gallup poll, with only 13 percent of Americans approving of “the way Congress is handling its job.”

The fact is that a candidate seeking support from actual humans who vote would be smart to distance him or herself from Congress — and cholera.

Anyway, the arrogance of the left is easy to prove. And it is even easier to prove that they are in full-out Perryphobia. A random sampling of left-wing oracles this week produces these gems: Ed Shultz calls him a racist; Rachael Maddow says he wants to “lynch” Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, and Chris Matthews insists that “he looks like a clown.”

Now for Hill Republicans, whoever they are. A Politico story, “Rick Perry’s loose lips worry Hill Republicans” put Perryphobia on full display.

Let’s start with the left, because that’s easy. Liberals — roughly 20 percent of America, fortunately — are generally very willing to tell you that they know more than you do. If you don’t believe that, try a field experiment today and you will see.

But liberals don’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk...........

If Perry's campaign advisers have even an ounce of sense they will make this election about Barack Obama. Apart from the growth of government jobs and salaries, what one thing has gotten better under Obama? And, of course, they must tout Perry's "Texas Miracle".

"...they think they are going to hurt Perry’s chances by dissing him? Really?"

Oh yeah, I've really come to hate this fashionable new speech mode of saying "Really?". I'm going to call it out every time I read it.

Perry needs to locate some indian blood in his family tree so he can accuse his opponents of racism...
"They are trying to lynch him because they don't want a red man in the White House!"

You think so...Americans could not give a hoot about what you *think* is so important. Americans BOTTOM LINE are jobs and the economy...there is only ONE running who has the record. Ever checked out the economy and jobs in Alaska? Alaska’s ranking is at the bottom...

I like the end!

Quick, let’s get Paul Ryan to run. Oops, he said no. Let’s take another trip to New Jersey to see if Gov. Chris Christie is still a no. Maybe we can lure Steve Forbes in for a third try. I know, let’s get Palin — maybe she can divide the conservative vote and stop Perry.

Enough already. The field is set. Deal with it.

‘Of course, all that pales in comparison to real sin of Perry -– he has been around for a long time, but failed to appropriately court, or pre-clear, his plans with the Washington-based Republican elites. While crafting the best economy in the nation, he apparently failed to solicit the input of the greatest minds of conservative elitedom in the nation’s capital.’

Explains the angst and resentment of the Rove-Bush coterie. I have even seen Dana Perrino on Fox trying to couch her words in neutral terms towards Perry, but she didn’t succeed.

They (establishment old guard who brought us DOLE, McCAIN and GWB) are terrified at what looks to be a major loss of power and influence.

HooRay for the Tea Party and Rick Perry.

[La Raza]Violence in Denver

The success of the alternative school and Gonzales' political achievements were overshadowed in 1973, when a man was arrested for jaywalking in front of the Crusade's headquarters.[20] A protest against the persecution was organized, leading to confrontations between demonstrators and police. Soon, a gun battle erupted, and a bomb exploded in the upper floors of the Downing Terrace apartments, which were in the possession of the Crusade.[21] One man was killed and seventeen were injured, among them 12 police officers. Gonzales accused the Denver police department of grenading the facilities, but a detective described the scene of the explosion as a "veritable arsenal".[22] Historians and scholars have yet to evaluate the impact of the bombing, but later prosecutions of Crusade participants served to diminish the influence of Gonzales and his organizations.

After this incident, Gonzales retreated into the private life of his family and Denver's Chicano community. He was still active in the movement, although he maintained a much lower profile.[23]

Don't need no Weatherman to see which way Perry blows. La Raza oozed out of the same Leftist orifice as the Weather Underground and the Black Panthers.

Yep. He does look like a grizzled old chief!

Many of us do have a little Indian blood. I have a great, great, great(?) grandmother who was Cherokee.

I think a lot of pioneers were able to put aside their problem with mixed bloodlines when they happened to meet a beautiful Indian princess.

Women often have that effect on men.;-)
