GOP big pushes Giuliani for vice prez (MEGA BARF ALERT)
The New York Post ^ | 2011-08-22 | Fredric U. Dicker

One of New York's best-known Republicans is calling on pres idential hopeful Rick Perry to choose Rudy Giuliani as his running mate for next year's election.

Former state GOP Chairman William Powers, a longtime Giuliani friend and a key player in his first mayoral election in 1993, told The Post that such a move by Perry could deliver key swing states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio to the Republicans.

"He'd be the best No. 2 anybody in the world could pick," said Powers, who has a longstanding relationship with leading Texas Republicans like Karl Rove, former President George W. Bush's top political adviser.

"A Perry-Giuliani ticket would absolutely defeat the Obama-Biden ticket and would have a big impact in New Jersey, in Pennsylvania, in Ohio, in Rhode Island and Connecticut, all places where Rudy is absolutely admired," Powers said.

Uh, no.

Will Rudy wear a dress to the inaugural? Will Hannity shill for him non-stop for the next year? Giuliani, its over. Retire on your millions and STFU and leave governing to real conservatives.

The Barf Alert is not justified.

Short of asking Dick Cheney to do another stint as Vice President, Giuliani would be a good choice if you're looking for a kick-ass-and-take-names kind of VP that would give our enemies pause -- just as Cheney did. A good VP can make a difference in a war situation.

Agreed Guiliani is not a bad choice he has no fear and kicks butt in speeches and debates. He will be vp so he won’t affect social policy which is why he’s not liked here but fiscally Rudy is sound.

Yeah. Lying for Rudy.

The man is a walking, talking set of talking points.

Did you know Giuliani would pick conservative judges? ROFL...

Must be true. Perry said so.

Guiliani is a non starter. Obama got Bin Laden. Making this election a security issue is meaningless.

Only one we should be looking at for a VP is Rubio.

Giuliani is not my first choose for President or Vice President. In fact, he's not even in the top ten.

But he showed great leadership skills and great personal courage on 9/11. While Bush was essentially in hiding (and maybe rightly so) Giuliani was out on the front lines that day.

And Giuliani knows who the real enemy is. When he was DA, he was fierce in his attacks on the mafia. I would assume he'd do the same against radical islam, both at home and abroad. And it's the “home” part that's been ignored thus far.

So Giuliani is not a top favorite of mine. He has many weaknesses. But I will give credit where credit is due.

Giuliani’s time is past.

He was an excellent mayor of NYC. He fixed the crime problem, and his left wing tendencies on social questions didn’t much matter since NYC couldn’t have been further to the left anyway.

He COULD have run for governor last time against Andrew Cuomo, and he might even have beaten him. There, again, not a perfect governor, but far better than Cuomo. But he didn’t.

I think that was his last chance. He is now history.

Global warming or “climate change” (AKA: the weather), is nothing more than a fear mongering scam to bilk people out their money.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Vice President of the United States.

Why shouldn't RINO Rick want Rudy as his running mate, he endorsed this freak for POTUS.

Making this election a security issue is meaningless.

That depends. In the absence of a major terrorist attack here, perhaps in the style of Beslan, you're probably correct. But if there is a major attack, all bets are off.

Short of any major missteps between now and next summer, I can't imagine anyone else getting the nod.
