i too learned the hard way with a different union, the UFCW...they negotiated our contracts, etc- problem is the contracts they negotiated always protected the scabs in the office at the expense of those of us who worked hard and produced....of course it was the same people year in and year out that were at the bottom of the list who had their jobs protected despite low production versus those of us who worked six days a week and had benefits negotiated away...
