Wow. Real smoking gun there. Perry made investments in distressed properties and flipped them a couple years later at a profit. How corrupt. I am sure that he got favors to raise all the Real Estate prices in the state just to benefit him.

Palin discussed with Greta today the Gardasil issue in Alaska, and how she (Palin, governor at the time) was absolutely opposed to seeing it mandated in Alaska.

True! As well, she reminded Greta that she has the proof in the 25,000 emails that were released. lol

My issue isn’t with Perry. My issue was your comment directed at Governor Palin about her “quitting”, like she just woke up one day and said gee, I’ll leave and become a Millionaire, screw Alaska.

In the current field of Candidates, Perry is one of the top tier. I have many Texas friends who support him and a few of them know Governor Perry personally. If he is the guy after the smoke clears he gets my Vote.

At this time, few of the Candidates do it for me. Time will tell. If Palin does jump in, she sinks or swims on her own.

After last night's allegations by Palin that Perry is some kind of crook willing to sell votes for $5000 in campaign contributions ...

That is 100 percent FALSE. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. It is a lie, plain and simple. Palin "alleged" something ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. Pay attention, for Pete's sake.

Lurkers, watch the interview (it's linked somewhere here), and see for yourself. P-Marlowe makes a wholly FALSE statement above. Maybe it's what he has to do in order to get people to support his candidate or to get people NOT to support Palin, but regardless of why, the "what" remains, and that is that his statement above is ENTIRELY FALSE. Fiction. Pretend. A lie.

Oh, you're a Romney supporter? Hmmmm... that explains the lies and the misrepresentations, as in "cheerleading" for TARP. You probably also think ACES was a "windfall profits tax" and that she's a "quitter."

I expect we all delude ourselves to one degree or the over over our lives, but I've observed that Romney supporters delude themselves to a far, far greater degree than any other Republican candidate's supporters.

Do you want to know why I support Palin and hope she runs? Because I've looked into the charges against her; if they had been true, I'd be right here warning people against her. But what I've found is that a awful lot of people, from both sides of the political aisle, have lied about or carefully and deliberately misrepresented Palin's record.

That tells me as much about Palin's detractors as it does about Palin. BECAUSE I've investigated their charges -- I'd sure as heck not support Palin if they were true -- I am hoping very, very much that Palin gets in the race, because if she does, SHE WILL WIN.

I believe that the mandate was so that the insurance companies would pay for the vaccine.  I don't believe that is accurate.  Parents, insurance companies, and taxpayers would have had to foot the bill.

If it was an opt-in then the insurance co would not pay for the vaccine.  The important thing here is the protection of individual choice.  You do not set something this personal up, so that you have to go through hoops to opt out.  When it comes to personal matters like this, you provide access, and then allow people to opt in.  It's a personal matter.  It IS NOT a state matter.  Young girls would have not say in this at all, the way Perry set it up.  The state and parents would get the final say.  When it comes to dying, I think a kid should have a choice in the matter too.

Not sure why he does not mention this.  Because there was no justification for what he did, whatsoever.

How would you have liked to have been forced to take a medication that would have exposed you to death, severe immune difficiency problems, or severe long term allergic reactions before you could have entered the sixth grade.  And how would you have liked it if you couldn't personally have had a say in that decision making process.  The state, and your parents would have the final say.  You couldn't opt out without their consent.  This is not the sort of decision a benevolent man makes on behalf of innocent young girls.  It's the decision an ill-informed dictator makes.  It expresses no consideration for the rights of the child in the process.

Still a mistake by him, was corrected within months and never went into effect, and he has owned up to it.

You say this as if it was some sort of a small dent on the right front fender of a car, that was pounded out and made good as new.  Girls died from taking this medication, over 100 of them.  Thousands of girls got long term immuno deficiencies from take this medication.  Still thousands more got some form of allergic reaction, that caused them to have to take medication once or more every day to counter the effects.

Perry did not correct this mistake.  The state legislature stepped in three months later, and corrected it.  By the grace of God, it may be true that no Texas girls were forced into taking this medication against their will, but it's certainly no thanks to Perry.  If I knew nothing more about the man, this one thing would disqualify him as a person I would back to hold public office.  It wreaks of being Hillary Clintoneske.

I was upset with him when he did this but I forgave him for it because I do not believe for one minute he did it for money or for bad motive. I sincerely believe he did it because he thought he would be helping young Texan girls avoid cancer.  IT DOES NOT MATTER what his motive was.  It does not matter if he profited personally.  This was dictatorial in nature, and a serverly flawed decision making process.  Where does the rights of the child figure into this?

I did not hear the Bachman and Palin interview, but if the two of them were implying the motive was for money - then I would never ever vote for either one of them and am disappointed especially in Palin. Bachman using these tactics don’t surprise me but Palin?  I didn't hear the interview either.  I don't necessarily agree with some of the things said, if reports are accurate.  As for Bachmann being some sort of person you supposedly knew could do something bad, spare me.  You thought better of Palin, but knew Bachmann could be unfair?  That's downright comical.  Perry endangers girls lives, and Bachmann and Palin are the only two you can find problem with.  Wow.

The Governor (Perry) is a self made millionaire by good investments he made in real estate purchases. And that is out in the open clearly documented/public.

He is also a man that issued an Excutive Order forcing young girls to endure an injection regimine completely out of their own control.  Rick Perry and parents were the only ones who needed to be consulted.  To hell with the ten or eleven year old kid who would face death, immuno deficiencies, or long term allergic reactions of some sort.  This is a guy that grasps the problems women face?  I'm about the farthest thing from a feminist, and this actually makes me angry.

This is documented and out in the open too.  What the hell is wrong with you, that you could explain this action away to yourself enough, to defend this jackass on this issue.

Why would he even consider ruining his career over a measly $5k donation?

I don't believe he would, but that really is pulling people off message.  I don't care if he made this decision for free, which I believe him to have done.  It was a despicable decision.  It was loathesome, totally unacceptable.

I agree with him, anyone even hinting at that is offensive.

What Perry actually said was something to the effect that he found it unreasoned for someone to think he could be bought for that amount of money.  Unwittingly, and I also think unfoundedly, it sounded as if he was saying it would take a lot more money than that to buy him.  I did get a chuckle out of the sound of it, none the less.

What Bachmann and Palin did was disgusting. They are attacking the candidate most likely to beat the Crony Capitalist King (Obama) by questioning his integrity.

I caught the Palin interview on Greta and changed channels when she started in on the $5,000 contribution and the link to crony capitalism. I didn't need anymore info at that point when the big "evidence" was a $5,000 contribution from a former staffer. The former staffer working for Merck probably believed in the drug they were promoting and probably wanted to contribute to Gov. Perry's campaign because he had worked for him and believed in him.

It strikes me as a pretty sleazy attempt to discredit a candidate. I like Bachmann but she really blew it on this one.

Oh, you're a Romney supporter?

LOL. I am a former Palin supporter who is now on record as being all in for Perry.

I just posted that gif to point out that Palin is doing her damnedest to undermine the conservatives on this panel which will only raise the numbers for Romney, who I absolutely will not vote for if he gets the nomination.

But Palin is sinking her fangs into Perry by insinuating that he is a crony capitalist because Merck donated $5000 to his campaign war chest and Perry thought it was a good idea to vaccinate children against a virus known to cause cancer in women.

Since Palin was all happy to give a political payback to McCain by endorsing his primary bid against a real conservative and since she was acting as the McCain cheerleader for his vote to pass the TARP (which is the largest example of crony capitalism ever passed by congress), she has exposed herself as a hypocrite of the first order.

Perry supported the Guardasil vaccination in 2007 and regrets it. Palin supported TARP in 2008 and then thanked McCain for making her a household name by endorsing his primary bid in 2010. She may be good but she ain't perfect by any stretch and her insinuations against Perry are the same kind of tactic that was used against her. She should know better than this.

If she wants to go after crony capitalism, maybe she should have attacked Mitt Romney's business concerns. Romney's business is the poster child for crony capitalism, but since Romney isn't the leader right now, it's not convenient to attack Romney, so she set her sights on a $5000 contribution from a pharmaceutical company that probably gives $5000 to every governor in America and every congressman and senator regardless of their party affiliation or whether they think it will buy them any favors.

It was disgusting that Palin is employing the same nasty tactics that were used against her. Bachmann can be forgiven because she is naive and downright politically tone deaf. But Palin should know better than to stoop this low.

Why explain?

Perry invested in real estate in 2001 and many people made a ton, including me....well a quarter ton for me.

Capitalism and investment are good things and so are profits.
