I really like Herman Cain; Newt is a blast in these debates; and Huntsman ought to run as a dem and primary Obama.

Nevertheless — after only his second debate — things do look pretty good for Rick Perry.

I must have been watching a different debate. Perry took huge hits on Social Security (whether you agree with him or not), Gardasil & immigration.

Of all the candidates there I thought he did the worst.

Trash talking all the other candidates does not help you candidate.

As a 30 year vet of GOP politics, who will be a delegate in 2012, I have some advice for you all. IF you want your candidate to win, try telling us why he is the right choice. Trash talking all the other candidate merely makes us wonder what YOUR choice is trying hide from us.

How is that, Perry admitted what he was, now it is just a matter of establishing the price for cronyism. Wonder if it is $5001.00:

Not to throw cold water on anyone’s candidate pick, but it is worth remembering that McCain polled as low as 5 percent before the primaries began. Never underestimate the money, power and organization of the establishment. Romney is their man. It will take a lot of work and support to beat him.

The author sees frightening “crazy” everywhere. He should seek therapy rather making political observations concerning his paranoia.

Rick Perry needed to do one of Reagan’s “There you go again routines” when Blitzer kept begging the other candidates to go after Perry.

Perry has many years as Governor and being in a top job for a long time is important when we pick a President.

Which is also why Obama is such a loser. He had never held an executive position.

I think they suspect he is going to win and are acting accordingly

No, that the stupid Media talking head dogma. It total nonsense Both Cain and Gingrich realize the way to win here is NOT play the "stir up a dog fight with the other GOP candidates" meme the Junk Media and it's assorted hangers on are pushing. They always forget you have to win the primary before you can run in the general election.

I have been in the GOP over 30 years. One thing GOP voters do not care for are those candidates who spend all their time attacking our side instead of attacking the real foes. O and the Democrats are the real target here

Perry, Gingrich and Cain are the only ones playing it smart here. The others, especially Huntsman, are making a serious error playing the Junk Media's game.

To Bachmann and Santorum this attempt to prevent cancer, whether ill-founded or not, was a form of child molestation or something. The more they went on about this, the more rabid, and frankly scary, they sounded.

"What was driving me was obviously making a difference about young people's lives," Perry said. "Cervical cancer is a horrible way to die."

Bachmann and Santorum got so worked up they were making it sound like Perry was a horrible man for caring about young girls health, that cervical cancer wasn't so bad, and everyone who wanted it had a right to get it, and how dare Perry interfere, or some such argle bargle. Bachmann and Santorum oozed desperation.

Perry won, plain and simple. Romney had to be the one to knock him down, not some single digit also rans like Santorum and Bachmann. Romney couldn't do it.

They say it ain’t over ’til it’s over or the fat lady sings at least a dozen times, finally making all the high notes in Aida and La Traviata in succession. Nevertheless — after only his second debate — things do look pretty good for Rick Perry.

In the words of John McEnroe, You have got to be kidding me.

I predict Perry will go down in the polls after last nights debate. Did you forget he got boooed at one point?

Perry did well, in my opinion. He took it and dished it out.

Now he needs to define better what he means with the Ponzi scheme & S.S. (and he is correct). He needs to tell the people just how Galveston (in his own state), opted out of the system and is making it work for them.

Stop playing into Romneys game plan, and allowing himself to be labeled as destroying S.S. for the old people. I am old and I am not afraid, and none of my friends are either. But we are all concerned for our grandchildren, and think they should be given a chance to invest where they want to.

Perry needs to continue hitting Mitt with his Romneycare, being the MODEL for Obamacare, and is a mandate on the people of Mass. In my opinion the state healthcare mandate is also unconstitutional.

Perry, hone your skills, you are great when delivering the one line barbs, such as to MITT last night, "You were doing fine, until you mentioned POKER". I'm sure that was not lost on a lot of Christians who are opposed to gambling.

Your one mistake last night, "if you think I can be bought for $5000.00 your mistaken". Rick, Rick, Rick that was just bad, not what you meant, but it came out as YOU COULD BE BOUGHT if the price was right. DON'T DO THAT AGAIN, YOU HEAR? JMO, not worth much

Gingrich is not particularly vice-presidential material but he would make a highly qualified secretary of State

Hmmm. I never thought of that.

If we could just combine the morality of Santorum with the genius of Newt, with the hair of Romney, we’d have our candidate.

Perry did very poorly in both Debates. He’s a great speaker and a terrible debater. With all the baggage (SS is a Ponzi Scheme, In-State tuition for Illegal Immigrants, The Guardasil debacle and pay-off, The Great Texas Land Grab knowns as the Trans-Texas Corridor, Supporting Hillary Care, and all the skeletons that have yet to surface.....) and the fact that Obama will mop the floor with Perry in the Debates..... WE NEED TO START LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WHO CAN WIN IN NOVEMBER 2012; for real.
