The Solyndra scandal will blow up if a direct nexus between Solyndra and Obama can be established. If that happens, no media outlet will be able to ignore it.

Interestingly, with some talk of the establishment dems wanting to get rid of Obama from the ticket (I don’t buy a syllable of it), a scandal like this could get rid of Obama for them.

Now why does this seem like deja-vu all over again?

I’m thinking of repeated warnings given to Congress regarding the soundness of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, and the flip dismissals those warnings were given (see Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, etc.)

Solyndra is only the tip of the iceberg. They have rushed out many other questionable loans to green companies that couldn’t get conventional loans because they were not economically viable entities. It’s just a matter of time to see if they blow up before the election.

AP, ABC, NYT. They’re all hitting this story hard now, and they are all the favorite dumping grounds of Democrats who want to get damaging info out there, put their own spin on it, and keep people distracted from other important issues.

This may be a story that has legs, but use of the standard MO perfected by the Clinton war room needs to be considered. If this doesn’t go anywhere, then by the 2012 election, it can be termed “old news”.
