Upscale Magazine has scored an interview with the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama for its October, 2011 issue. She is also featured on the cover.

In the October Upscale cover story, entitled National Treasure, Michelle Obama opens up to Spelman College graduates about her life as a young black girl in the Southside of Chicago Some of you may have grown up like me, in neighborhoods where few had the chance to go to college, explained Mrs. Obama, who prefers to be called Michelle.
The cover story will also detail the impact Mrs. Obama has had on fashion, reasons for her style choices. The story will also reflect her comparison to previous first ladies, including Jacqueline Kennedy.

That one of her walking the dog is pretty cool-—bra straps showing and all—must be the latest fashion rage.
Is that an apron? Is she really wearing an apron?
“Here’s a little tidbit from Mark Steyn’s latest (excellent, entertaining) book, a “selfmeditation” from Michelle Robinson’s senior thesis “on the difficulties of being a black woman at Princeton.” I don’t think he’d mind.
“A separationist is more likely to have a realistic impression of the plight of the Black lower class because of the likelihood that a separationist is more closely associated with the Black lower classes than are the integrationist [sic]. By actually working with the Black lower class or within their communities as a result of their ideologies, a separationist may better understand the desparation [sic] of their situation and feel more hopeless about the resolution as opposed to an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight.”
Wow. That Ivy League education ....
She also complained that her test “scores weren’t high enough” (to get into Princeton) but somehow they managed to save a couple seats for her.
Looks like a yellow burka.
