Having just read the implementing directives again this morning, I noticed that the language used is that there will be no preferences given nor harassment, etc., tolerated “due to sexual orientation”. That cuts both ways, and I fully expect there will be a lot of “they’re messing with me because I’m NOT gay” complaints. The other thing I noted was that sexual orientation will NOT be treated like race, religion, ethnicity, etc. for purposes of filing MEO (military equal opportunity) complaints. Teeny weeny glimmers of hope, but we’ll see...

Thanks for the front line report. FWIW, I remember reading the text of the law and it specifically noted DOMA would STILL apply....and then of course a few months later Hussein said he would NOT enforce DOMA.

I just do not trust this regime at all.
