I still haven't seen that documented anywhere -- other folks are saying it's January 15, not October 15. Besides, you can pretty much write off Utah as a Mitt win anyway (and of course, it will have NOTHING to do with Mormonism. No siree...)
while the deadlines for many other states land on Oct. 31
One state, Florida, not "many". South Carolina is next on November 1. Both states have relatively low barriers to entry, so a last-minute entry in both cases is plausible.
The deadline to get on the Utah primary ballot is Oct. 15
That is not what Utah says is the deadline:
Becoming a Federal Candidate
Office : President
Filing Dates : Between between July 1 of the year before the primary election will be held and 5 p.m. on January 15 of the year in which the primary election will be held

I have heard contradicting reports on Utah, also was mentioned somewhere that Michigan had a mid Oct date.
But on the Utah deadline, for sure Mittens probably picks that up in the primary, The Osmonds are all on board for Mitt.
So she could just skip the Utah thing altogether I guess.
