N.J. taxpayers paid $78K to remove Carl Lewis from Senate ballot

MOUNT LAUREL — New Jersey taxpayers paid almost $78,000 in staff time to remove the track star Carl Lewis from the November ballot in his bid for the state Senate. After a tangled five-month battle in both state and federal court, the state Attorney General and Burlington County Republicans succeeded in making sure Lewis, a Democrat, could not run in the Republican-leaning 8th Legislative District.

Sometimes you got to fight the liberals who want to break the residency law. They don't care about laws, and fight for their right to break the law.

But NJ was screwed when Torricelli dropped out of his Senate Race in September and Lautenberg got to replace him thanks to the courts.
