The New Orleans Saints and Mercedes-Benz have reached an agreement on a 10-year naming rights deal for the recently renovated Superdome that officially changes the name of the iconic stadium to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The deal marks the first time in the stadium's 36-year history that the building will be known by something other than the Louisiana Superdome.
The agreement will be officially announced at a news conference Tuesday.
"This is a great, great partnership," Gov. Bobby Jindal said Monday. "I know for many years there have been attempts to sell this sponsorship, and I think the restructured deal and the new Superdome are two of the reasons this is actually happening. So I think this is great for the Saints and great for the state.
Unlike in years past when the state attempted to sell the naming rights to the stadium, the Saints negotiated this deal. As part of its 15-year lease agreement the state and the Saints reached in 2009, the state granted the Saints the rights to sell the naming rights.

Well at least it will save taxpayer money.
Bling-bling alert.
good for them.
My vote is for... der Heiligbunker!
Mercedes-Benz are definitely a must have for a certain class of people in NOLA.
Good! At least the a$$hole owner of an NFL team won’t threaten to leave unless the taxpayers cough up millions for a new stadium. Mercedes-Benz will be on the hook to grease the skids for the next 15 years.
For the next hurricane Mercedes-Benz will sent storm troopers to NOLA to make damn sure the place is not used as the shelter of last resort.
Why corporations pay big bucks to be associated with the NFL is beyond me.
Unlike Chrysler The Saints have a loyal following.
Why on earth did the Saints have any say in this deal at all??????they certainly don't own the stadium, either New Orleans or Louisiana must hold title to the thing and the owner should be the ones to negotiate with Mercedes.
