Although Texas Gov. Rick Perry has been hurt by poor debate and straw-poll performances - and in recent days by associations with a racial slur - top Republican officials think he nonetheless can survive the blows and remain a major contender for the partys presidential nomination. The Washington Times is a pretty solid paper. I think the key for Perry is improving his debate performances and how strong his campaign chest is. He will need to advertise heavily to get the truth out about who he is.
Just reading threads on FR I would think he's for illegal aliens just walking in and taking over. How odd that Gilchrist supports him.

I agree that people have written Perry off too early. If Bachmann gets out then much of her votes will go to Perry. And Cain really stepped in it with his insensitive charge - conservatives have started to rally around Perry again and dismiss Cain.
And with all this Christie “will he or won’t he” a lot of possible Romney supporters are on the sidelines and holding their wallets.
Perry still has an excellent chance. I just hope he is in “debate bootcamp” like Palin was at in Arizona in 2008 .

I don’t care if Perry stumbles a bit.
As long as he hops over Willard on his way to the nomination.

Therefore, some activists say their tea-party movement by and large wants Mr. Perry to stay in the contest as long as possible, if only to make sure the front-running Mr. Romney, whom they regard with suspicion, does not stray too far, if at all, from Mr. Perrys conservatism Wow did Fox News write this story? Perry needs to basically stay in the race long enough to allow Fox News' favorite candidate Mitt Romney enough time to build conservative roots. Then Perry can drop out and comb Mitt's hair along with Dick Morris and Chris Wallace. lol i made myself laugh. sorry.

Wait until people realize that Perrys Texas already has a Sharia Court.
Lets look at how far Perry has allowed Sharia law to infiltrate the legal system in Texas. The following case (website included) should scare the crap out of you if you are an American Patriot and especially anyone who is truly a conservative.
Its a divorce case but Ill include a line that should get your attention.
Heres the line from the case document found at the site.
On September 25, 2002, all five parties signed an "Arbitration Agreement." This document recites, in full, that the parties:
after consultation with their respective attorneys, agree to submit all claims and disputes among them to arbitration by the TEXAS ISLAMIC COURT, 888 s. Greenville Ave., suite 188, Richardson, Texas, as follows:
Ill bet you didnt know there was already a TEXAS ISLAMIC COURT did you.
http://www.2ndcoa.courts.state.tx.us/opinions/htmlopinion.asp?OpinionId=14601
Dont let people tell you that a little bit of Islam ok or that they are moderate Muslims. Muslims and Islam are NOT compatible with a Free Republic or our Constitution.
