I think you are exactly right. If he improves his debate performance he should pick up a lot of support.
Nice.
But the way to counter that, is to use pithy statements attacking Romey. Drudge goes for Hits.
(For instance...Perry stumbled through comparing Romeny to Flipper?!?!?Who is writing his material, What he should have said was, ‘Gov.Romney flip flops so much, he’s the Republican John Kerry, Then subsequently, ‘This guys got more flip flops than the beaches of Texas’)
His message is good, he needs better writers.
I agree. I didn’t notice a Romney lean at all.
Nice.

No one could make themselves look good with 7 others + 2 moderators attacking them and encourging the others to pile on.
No one (except Palin) has taken the abuse Perry has, and it’s sad because the left knows he is the only real threat to them in the race, but many on the right have abandoned him because he is not as perfect as they would of liked, so they flirt with the fantasy of Cain because he has no record to tear apart, while all they are really accomplishing is handing the nomination to Romney who hates them.
How is Perry associated with these reports? Because they mention Perry, you assume he generated them? Really? Really?
So, guess we are stuck with the loser Romney!
So tired of reading all the little details against our GOP candidates and not unloading against the enemy, Obama.
I don’t think Romney has the guts to go up against Obama and all the trash they will throw at him.
He will act just like McCain and let it all slide until we have to watch another Black Widow red and black dressed Moochelle standing beside her man while he takes the oath of office for the 2nd time.
Puke!
But its nothing compared to the feeding frenzy we are witnessing on this forum by posters determined to smear a good conservative like Rick Perry.
Romney may be benefiting from Perry’s woes, but Willard is no alternative at all.
I think Politco figured this one out without Perry’s help.
>>Perry does not have a Drudge problem.
He has a debate prep team problem.<<
Perry’s REAL problem is his record. And there’s no way he can “spin” his way around it.
exactly!
Remember we ended up with McCain because he actually looked conservative compared to Romney.
Perry was one of the Tea Parties first and most powerful allies and now they turn their backs on him, don’t think for a second that others are not watching, this will be the end of the tea party.
Cain although a nice man, is just a blank page (like Obama was) that you can pretend believes everything you believe because he hasn’t done anything, and has no record to pick apart.
LOL, you really are naive.
That is not Ben Smith's M.O. He is a water carrier. I'll find out later this morning.
Meh, sorry, but Perry’s problems are mostly due to his horrible debate performances. The “heartless” comment was one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard a politician say. When you disagree with your supporters on something, you explain your position and move on - you don’t insult them.
Still, it’s not too late for Perry. More debates to come. He’s an impressive campaigner and will have a chance to redeem himself. Also, while the base seems excited about Cain, I am not so sure it will translate into real primary votes. If that is the case, Perry would still be the anti-Romney.
"We got into this economic mess because of misplaced government interference in the first place. The mortgage crisis that triggered the collapse of our financial markets was rooted in a well-meaning but wrongheaded desire to increase home ownership among people who could not yet afford to own a home.Politicians on the right AND left wanted to take credit for an increase in middle-class home ownership. But the rules of the marketplace are just as constraining as human nature. Government cannot force financial institutions to give loans to people who can't afford to pay them back and then expect that somehow things will all magically work out. Sooner or later, reality catches up with us. "

...but he didn't. So FAIL.
So, who do you support then? Rick “Conservatives have no heart” Perry?
As the age old saying goes 'when you're looking for excuses any one will do'. When the message is a dud then blame the messenger. Works most of the time.

I’d like to second or third this statement. The GOP folks like me and you so desperately want to defeat Obama that we’re not looking for a “good chance” our guy will win; we can a guarantee.
And so the search goes on.
However I am convinced Perry is the one. Every negative story about this guy it seems is pure B.S. and that’s one of my leading indicators. My web site is my contribution http://rickperryreport.com/
