Perry’s challenge is getting through all the “heartless” primary voters, who once thought he was a solid Conservative.

My version of your statement: Perry’s challenge is getting through all the “heartless” primary voters, who were told he was a solid Conservative.

Until and unless someone else jumps in the race like Palin yes I am a Perry supporter.

I don’t think Palin is going to run, but I would consider switching my support to her if she did, and especially if she ran and did well against the others in a debate or two.

Is the only way to be a solid conservative is to ignore the children of illegal immigrants?

They DON’T come here to get a college discount. They are the byproduct of parents who are illegal and the kids happen to have absorbed the values of the American Dream and want to get an education rather than sell drugs or join gangs. Why bastardize that dream for the children?

Perry's "heartless" statement was just plain dumb--no other way around it BUT then I got to thinking how insulted I was when I watched "The Undefeated" and they painted the whole Republican party with the broad brush of corruption and being unethical. I was insulted as I have worked for years to help elect Republicans and comparing the two insults, Perry's was likely a stupid, off the cuff remark where in the Palin movie, it was calculated and they could have toned it down during editing, or eliminated it entirely.

They chose to not eliminate it so I guess Sarah Palin thinks all Republicans are corrupt and unethical, except her, of course.

Why are you putting quotes around CONSERVATIVES HAVE NO HEART?

Clearly - it is not what he said, nor what he meant.

Are we making stuff up now? Really?

Did the Tea Party select Perry or did Perry go to the Tea Party?

I have gone to several Tea Party events and Perry’s statement about giving illegals access to public tuition seems to go against Tea Party Principles.

I’m not turning my back on the guy. After the last two debates I running as fast as I can away from him.

Perry along with Palin allied with the tea party in it's infancy.

This is like watching the French Revolution turn on itself to me.

Everyone who has held office has made mistakes they wish they could take back. The longer they hold office, the more times they will make a decision that has results different than expected.....it’s called “life”.
How many of us wish we could take back some of our decisions?
Politicians are just people. There is no perfect candidate who will be all things to all people. If they try to do that, then they have no beliefs.
I would gladly take Perry with all his warts than Romney who is almost as pretty as Edwards.

That is not Ben Smith's M.O. He is a water carrier.

That is true.

OTOH,I was thinking the same thing he said reading Drudge's stuff over the last few weeks.

Drudge does not like Perry for some reason.

Perry comes across as a “real man” not the pretty face of Romney/Edwards.
Many East coast people don’t understand Western men who actually hunt, go fishing, and when they make mistakes own up to them.
Take a look at the sissy boys the dems have run in past years.

“Perry has no one to blame but himself for a series of poor responses in the last debate.”

i agree. ...it’s a mystery, how he could have done so poorly, when everyone knows, what a masterful debater he is.
...look what an incredible job he did, in the latest Texas Governor debates. He was so good, it was almost like his opponents weren’t even there...

...oh. wait... i forgot.

I actually support Herman Cain, but I hate it when Conservatives “Eat Their Own”, as reportedly Drudge is doing to Gov. Perry. Especially to the support of Romney, who is anything but a conservative.

Just my humble opinion. Yours may vary. :-)

Exactly, Perry is not perfect, far from it, I would place him slightly to the right of W on the conservative scale, which is far from perfect but he would still be the most conservative president since Reagan.

Cain... I don't know.... he seems likable, but in a weird sort of way (that has nothing to do with race) he sort of reminds me of Obama, a likable man with no experience and no record promising change. A blank slate that everyone can project what they wish him to be, because there is no practical way of evaluating the truth of his words because of his lack of a record. In addition to that his only plan to fix the economy is his 999 plan with has .... um... ZERO chance of every being passed. National sales tax? um... congress agreeing to give up nearly all it's power it derives from the tax code? never going to happen. So when his 999 plan is shot down, what is his next plan? that's a real problem because we have some real freaking serious issues right now.

There was NO debate prep at all for him for any of the debates

Is this your supposition or do you know this as a fact.

I was thinking that they'd OVER PREPARED him since in the last debate it was obvious that he planned to attack Romney on his flip-flops but messed it up.

After that first debate and certainly after the second one, if his team didn't prepare him for the third debate, then they all need to be fired.

Cain's 9% national sales tax would be in addition to the sales taxes levied by States, right? So its conceivable if you live in Texas, you could pay 8.5% sales tax and then another 9% for every purchase.

Is everyone up for 17.5% sales tax in Texas???
