That is a very sad situation. In essence, your friends have to choose NOT to visit family or visit them and risk their lives. I think the government is just plain out ignoring/denying/lying about Mexico (and the threat to the U.S.). As for the gunwalker issue... makes you wonder how many people the U.S. government has “helped” kill?

Of course, the guilty in our USG will get by, scot-free. They couldn’t care less about the plight of the peasantry.
