Now, let's consider together the extraordinary spectacle we see unfolding before our eyes in America today.
Sarah Palin, who just announced she will not run for the presidency in 2012, is a good place to start.

Early on, I took a passing stab at this question in "How Evil Works":
Haven't you ever wondered why, when someone on the public stage radiates noble character, common sense and natural grace like Ronald Reagan did, or more recently Sarah Palin he or she is regarded by the "big media" with an inexplicable revulsion? Hatred is almost too soft a word. It's because Reagan and Palin manifest the very qualities of character that the jaded media elite lost long ago, and since being thus reminded of their lost innocence is painful and unwelcome, they feel compelled to attack the "reminder."
Since then, "Robin of Berkeley" pseudonym for a Berkeley, Calif., psychotherapist wrote a poignant and meaningful column along these same lines in American Thinker. Here's what she concluded: "Leftists loathe Palin because she has retained something that was stripped from them years ago: a wholesomeness, a purity of heart. People on the left despise Palin because she shines a bright light on their shame and unworthiness, which they try desperately to deny."

One can be cynical and say she stayed out of the race for the money.
One can understand her staying out for the sake of her family.
Whatever her reasons, not running for the republican nomination for president has dealt Romney a serious serious blow. I think she saw how Romney was benefiting from the tea party fracturing for Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Santorum, Newt, etc.
Perhaps she believed her entry would have divided conservatives even more and handed the nomination to Romney.
I believe Sarah had an excellent chance to win it all. Perhaps it’s wishful thinking. She was certainly too good for this mean world of politics.
If her personal sacrifice in taking herself out of the race helps insure that we nominate a true conservative candidate - someone like Cain, to my way of thinking, then Sarah, once again, has provided us a silver lining as she will continue to lead the way.
The only thing I hate is the media gloating on how they were able to destroy Palin. I don’t believe that, but they do. I despise the media. Even more than Obama, they are taking down this country and have for decades.
“Excellent commentary, well worth reading the whole article.”
Yes, it is.
Agreed. Am sending it to friends to read. Thanks for posting this.
This commentary is so good, I am saving it in my political documents file.
I am sending it to my fellow Republican Precinct Committee Officers.
You are a sad, sad, little man.
From the article: “There is a growing and highly influential segment of our society that thinks normal, “Ozzie and Harriet,” traditional-minded Americans are evil.”
Such was the bashing of Sarah Palin. Unlike some, I don’t consider Sarah a saint or a sinner. She’s talented and beautiful, but I meet women like her all the time in church. She’s not perfect. She is, in fact, a wholesome, normal lady who has her head and morality straight. As the article mentions, that’s probably why some people despise her so much.
I am eagerly awaiting Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican Convention next summer.
Already read this piece. Thanks for posting. It really gets to the bottom of things. Pass it along.
Did you read the comments?
They prove the article.
I would say the vitriol stems from Satanic fear and trembling knowing that time for them is short.
