Reporter Caught Moonlighting for Media Matters

A Philadelphia newspaper reporter assigned to cover the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York is moonlighting as a Media Matters activist — tweeting in support of the protests while writing about them.

Will Bunch of the Philadelphia Daily News — whose front page article on Tuesday carried the headline “It’s About Time!”— is also, according to his own Twitter feed, a senior fellow at Media Matters, the anti-Fox News media group.

FoxNews.com was unable to find any mention of Bunch’s association with Media Matters on Philly.com, which hosts content from the Philadelphia Daily News and its rival, the Inquirer.

There is also no mention in the Daily News’ online edition of Bunch’s support of the Occupy Wall Street protesters, which is suggested in his Twitter posts.

In an interview with FoxNews.com, Bunch said he works as news reporter, blogger and editor. “I do it all,” he said. When asked about his relationship with Media Matters, Bunch said that when the group approached him to be a fellow, he told his editors he would basically be doing for Media Matters what he’d been doing on his Daily News blog since 2005.

I don't understand the widespread commitment to liberalism among journalists. It seems there is a larger percentage of far left ideologues in media than SEIU.

It is just odd to me that so many people in any given profession would be so homogeneous in their beliefs.

It is crucial in a democracy that the fourth estate acts as a watch dog over the government. Our problems today stem from the fact that they have failed miserably. Now we have to be the watch dogs of the so-called watch dogs.

After “graduating” from Publik Skul, almost all of them went to the same old tired liberal “journalism” schools, taught the same old tired liberal ”activism journalism” by the same old tired liberal college professors, on campuses where homogeneity is viewed not simply as something desirable, but pretty much mandatory.

They “graduate” without really having learned about journalism, but are very adept at pushing the liberal agenda, and know how to smack down perceived enemies of the state without a second thought.

Unbeknownst to almost all of them, they have been sold a bill of goods, having learned to become smooth practitioners in a propaganda machine that would make Joseph Goebbels green with envy.

When the final collapse comes (notice I said, “when”, not “if”), the Fourth Estate will collapse most grandly (as will most all of the university structure that regards themselves as the “elite”) along with the rest of us.

It'll be tuff for them, because not only will they possess few, if any, marketable skills in the post-apocalyptic world, but they'll be universally reviled and shunned.

Almost makes you feel sorry for them, huh?

Yeah - almost!

A 'journalism' major is the absolute bottom of the academic achievement food chain. Is it any wonder that young liberals would gravitate to the career path that required the least application of critical thinking skills?

Being liberals they find no shame in lying, most damaging they lie to themselves as well and so delude themselves into thinking that they are doing good. They then selfrightously proceed to spread liberalism as a holy cause.

There is much truth in the old bromide;
If you are 20 and not a liberal, you have no heart.
If you are 30 and not a conservative, you have no brain.

GtG

In his defense, it’s the Philly Daily News.

That’s about par with the Weekly World News.

So he’s not REALLY a reporter...

Ho-hum. What’s new about that? Those covering the key issues have been in bed with the enemy for years!

It is just odd to me that so many people in any given profession would be so homogeneous in their beliefs.

Conservatives can't get hired. Christians need not apply.

The quality of a democracy can't exceed the quality of the press. We are in deep trouble.

Isn’t this just a dog-bites-man story? Over 95% of the media are left wing libtards anyway.

“It is just odd to me that so many people in any given profession would be so homogeneous in their beliefs.”

I think it’s a combination of two things. First, the liberals purposefully push their proteges to go into fields like journalism where they can exercise influence. Second, once they reach critical mass in field, liberals start ostracizing people with other beliefs and pushing them out of the field, or at least into the closet if they want to keep their jobs.
