Although no one asked Perry, it would be helpful for the voter if he would also give his opinion on the nature of Islam.

I don’t think he will do that unless forced to.

Until someone asks, no good reason for Perry to respond. I know why you made that post. There is nothing sinister about Perry's personal friendship with his fellow Texan, Aga Kahn. After all, Perry is the Governor of ALL Texans --- Christians, Jews, Muslims, whatever. They're all Americans. Perry initiated a teacher-training program on Islamic history and helped to get that curricula introduced into Texas schools. I see no evidence this is an effort to push Sharia Law, however.

Perry also personally opposes the Ground Zero mosque at the WTC sight but says its a local issue to be decided by the people of NYC. Also, the Governor is a huge supporter, defender and friend of the State of Israel.

Perry laid the corner stone at a Mosque in Texas and here is a quote from one of his speeches.

We are delighted to welcome you to the Lone Star State and participate in the celebration of your Golden Jubilee. I am also grateful to the many federal, state and local leaders in attendance tonight. By their presence, these special guests convey the profound respect that exists in the Western World for His Highness’ work and leadership.”

He has a rather cozy relationship with Muslims and even helped to get teaching about Muslim history in Texas classrooms.
