Yeah I get it,he flubbed his answer. If he doesn’t win and Perry does he has no intentions of supporting him. Which in turn gives the democrats talking points and something to beat the republican party up with.

I’ve dug into Cain’s past and the only positions he shares are the conservative ones Romney pretended to have.

In fact, with Romney you can probably find every candidate running is aligned with him at some point because he’s taken every side of every position. They don’t call him Multiple Choice Mitt for nothing.

Every time I start to think Cain might be a good choice, he says something stupid. I wish he would get over the N-rock thing and realize that we have to come together to defeat the real enemy. Fight the primary on real issues and not emotional garbage created by the media.

I personally think Cain hopes to ride his ‘cain train’ straight to Romney’s coattails.

By saying he wouldn’t be Perry’s vice president but indicating that he would accept being someone else’s, who does anyone think he’s talking about.

Everyone else is in single digits.

I think he’s using his growing popularity to get Mitt to make a deal with him. He would be a valuable asset to Mitt as he is more conservative and would blunt some of the criticism.

I’m warning you people ... trust but verify.

Or maybe Gilchrist knows what he is talking about and you may be misinformed?

Minuteman founder applauds Texas governor’s border security plan

http://www.jimgilchristforcongress.com/article.php?id=74

Oct 15, 2005

Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist today said that he “applauded the courageous decision” of Texas Governor Rick Perry to take action to increase security at the Texas-Mexico border.

The Texas governor, who said he is “not going to stand by and allow our citizens to be placed in danger” by the increasing flood of illegal immigrants and violence along the border, announced a plan for border security that includes deployment of teams of state troopers to react to increased incidents of illegal immigration and violence in border areas - as well as for possible deployment of the National Guard in cases of emergency.

Suggested answer to that question: “I’ll let you know should the time come.”

and what issues is he talking about ‘based on some issues?’

Is he still worrying about The Rock?

I don’t get it.

Perry is solidly conservative, much more so than Romney, so come on, Cain, tell us what issues concern you so much?

“Or maybe Gilchrist knows what he is talking about and you may be misinformed?”

Fine, tell me where I was wrong with my post.

I live near Houston. HOUSTON IS A SANCTUARY CITY. There has been NO CRACKDOWN at all from the state.

How many damn times do I have to repeat that (every time I comment to you, maybe).

This is what Dr. Wheeler said about Cain, yesterday: Will it be show time for Cain? Will one of his competitors ask him about the fatal flaw in his 9-9-9 tax reform plan? As Erik Erickson asks it:

"Given the Republican Party has a unparalleled history of being unable or unwilling to truly scale back the size and scope of the federal government and its creeping socialism, do we really want the Republican Party to be the party to introduce a national sales tax or VAT tax without first repealing the income tax?"

There's also the question of to what extent Cain is a jerk. He certainly is one towards Perry for whom he expresses a personal animus. He refuses to apologize for implying that Perry was somehow "insensitive" regarding the Niggerhead Rock smear, and told Hugh Hewitt on Wednesday (10/05) that:

"If it's one of those other candidates up there (who gets the nomination instead of him), I am going to support them 100%. If Governor Perry gets the nomination, I will still support him, but it won't be 100%."

Sorry, but this is simply being a jerk. Perry wants to repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments, and drastically reduce the size and power of the federal government via the 10th Amendment, while Romney as an establishment RINO will do none of this. But Cain could get behind the RINO and not the 10th Amendment guy?

His argument is particularly pathetic, misconstruing Perry's stand on illegal immigration. The hypocrisy is glaring, for, as the regional manager of hundreds of Burger Kings and CEO of Godfather's Pizza, he employed hundreds if not thousands of illegals. Has anyone ever asked him what actions he took to ensure the businesses he ran hired no illegals?

There's a lot to like in Herman Cain but there's a lot to give one pause as well.

On October 6:

Not 100% support for Perry, but 100% for any other candidate.

See Cain's comment below.

Herman Cain, who appeared to go on the attack against fellow GOP presidential contender Gov. Rick Perry over the past week, backtracked from earlier claims that he would not support the Texas governor if he won the nomination. "Now if [the nominee is] one of those other candidates up there, I am going to support them 100 percent. If Governor Perry gets the nomination, I will still support him, but it won’t be 100 percent,"

Everybody seems to be hating on Perry for some reason.

It either means something really awful about him or something really great.

When given a chance to pick a VP candidate from among the nominees, Cain picked Romney first.

There’s something truly “hazy” about Cain’s positions that really troubles me.

I find that strange also. On the other hand... why would anyone need an abortion if they cannot even afford the hotel room?

It’s not confirmed nor denied that he was asked a question. Options:

1) He was asked about being VP, and told them, but they never spelled out the question asked.

2) He just volunteered this, out of the blue. (not likely)

It’s probably the border and Perry’s flip-flopping, plus the idea that girls should HAVE to get the vaccinations. Perry comes across as less than honest. (although, no more than Romney) I don’t think Mr. Cain would be that touchy about the name of a park.

Cain is of course taking the current version of Romney at face value, which annoys the Perrywinkles and as quite a separate matter may or may not be wise. I think it’s a shame that Romney cares more about the border, at least on paper, than Perry does.

Most of the questions asked on this thread can be answered, “Because Cain is a rookie at this.”

Mistake for saying stuff like this; too early and anything is possible. Obama is the enemy.

I was talking about Cain. I am not judging on public speaking abilities alone but on actual real world governing experience, we already are suffering from someone who snookered the masses with his shuck and jive routine.

As far as Cain, you do know he’s a professional BS spreader right? That is what most motivational speakers do. When you actually start digging into his past he is not nearly as conservative as he is claiming. His positions are closer to Romney’s than anyone else’s in the running.
