Most of the questions asked on this thread can be answered, “Because Cain is a rookie at this.”
You are giving a pass to Cain for clearly showing a preference to Romney and even Obama — but you and others don’t give a pass, instead turn into vicious attackers against Perry when he misspeaks, when he said people are hearless if they don’t support in-state tuition for children of illegal aliens.
Put it on a scale, Perry’s statement vs Cain supporting Romney and Obama.
Ricky says I am heartless because I don’t want to give special privileges to illegal aliens and their children.
F.U. R.P.
I’m so done with Cain, I liked him. The whole Bush/ Kerry “who would you rather have a beer with..” from ‘04, Cain is the guy I wanted to invite over for lunch after church on Sunday. But after the deer lease thing with Perry, I’m done. Cain knows what a deer lease is and even if he didn’t know anything about the story he should have immediately suspected that if the media is reporting that the guy, who has managed to be the Governor of Texas for longer than anybody has ever been governor in the US, suddenly has a race issue, that there is something just not right with the story. If he wasn’t able to immediately suspect it was a hit piece and declined to comment then he isn’t the guy I thought he was. If he did know then he is just another politician that got high off his numbers and played the race card to get the kill. Either way I’m done with him.
How many times are you going to post this same story?
Shilling much?
The echo this time around is the tag team routine shaping up with Cain and Romney vs Perry. In 2008, Huckabee stayed in the race after he had no money in order to split the conservative anti-McCain vote. This hurt Romney and gave the nomination to McCain. Cain, with his race baiting reaction against Perry (the painted rock story of the Washington Post) and his statements that he would consider running as VP with any other candidate in the field except Perry (even Huntsman??? - YGTBSM) are telling.
It is always a good idea to keep track of who the left is publicly going after, as it tells you who they are most scared of. In 2008, it was Palin. In 2010, it was Christine O'Donnell and Rand Paul. This election cycle, that target is Perry. They fired a 7-page, race baiting hit piece in the Washington Post this week. Democrats are talking about introducing a resolution in congress condemning Perry for the allegations in the bogus story. You don't do this to a candidate unless you are terrified of what they will do to you if elected. This is fast approaching the Palin treatment.
In contrast, Cain has had to dodge none of this. Contrast that with what the media and democrats did with the last black conservative they were scared of - Clarence Thomas. Then ask yourself, why isn't Cain getting the same treatment? An obvious conclusion is that the left is not scared of him and are giving him a free ride. This ought to give all of us pause.
The left and democrats ALWAYS tell us who they are scared of. They always tell us who the strongest conservative is. This election cycle, that candidate is Rick Perry. Which for the time being is good enough for me. Cheers -

Oh, yeah, tap into Mitt’s money as Cain has very little and no experience in fund raising and no solid election staff.
He’s jonesin’ for Romney.
Announcing hid availability for VP does not help his chances of getting that spot and it takes him out of the running for President. He is now Not a Serious Candidate. Bit by bit we are being left with only Romney as a viable contender- viable as a contender for nominee, not for President. It is beginning to look like the Democrats aren’t even going to have to vote in the Republican primaries to nominate Romney. We will have another election in which both candidates are the Democrat choices and this time the Democrats don’t even have to work for it.
Cain supported Romney in 2008, so it’s not as if he didn’t know Romney well enough.
And to say that Romney cares more about the border than Perry is so ridiculous, it is beyond belief.
Minuteman founder applauds Texas governorâs border security plan

Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist today said that he âapplauded the courageous decisionâ of Texas Governor Rick Perry to take action to increase security at the Texas-Mexico border.
The Texas governor, who said he is ânot going to stand by and allow our citizens to be placed in dangerâ by the increasing flood of illegal immigrants and violence along the border, announced a plan for border security that includes deployment of teams of state troopers to react to increased incidents of illegal immigration and violence in border areas â as well as for possible deployment of the National Guard in cases of emergency.
FLASHBACK: Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist endorses Rick Perry for Texas governor
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2789954/posts
“I had to come 1,200 miles to find a governor who believes in a simple principle called the rule of law,” Gilchrist said at the Crescent Hotel. “I’m here to encourage all you Texans to stand your ground and get out there and vote for this governor.”
Gilchrist later added that “Perry has a clear record of decisive action to secure our borders, stop illegal drug and human trafficking trade and is very clearly the right choice for voters in Texas to fight illegal immigration.”
In accepting the endorsement, Perry blasted the federal government’s effort to secure that nation’s borders.
“Washington’s record on border security has been one of indifference, of neglect and failure,” Perry said. “That’s why Texas has been stepping up with resources to fill the gap left by Washington.”
Perry said the state, over the last two legislative sessions, has pumped in over $225 million for border security.
“We’re not going to rest in Texas until that border is completely secure,” Perry said.
Perhaps it is not Perry’s political positions...Maybe he just does not like the guy . . .or he just may have an aversion to ‘Texas politics’; or the Democrat bed they have sprung from.
...and verrrrrrry thin skin...he is STILL playing the “white guilt” card....
Herman Cain said he would.
So Herman Cain flip-flopped on Medved's show from what he said a week ago with Wolf Blitzer:
Today, I could not support Rick Perry as the nominee for a host of reasons, Cain told CNNs Wolf Blitzer Wednesday, pointing specifically to Perrys stance on illegal immigration."
Sounds like Cain does have more in common with Romney - they both pander by taking both sides of the issue - depending on who they are talking to at the time.
Cain is imploding, like Bachmann, he is showing himself not to be presidential material. Too bad, I really like him.
To be fair to Cain, that headline should read “I’d be Any GOP’s VP,” not “I’ll.”
He doesn’t say he’s running for V.P. He does say that IF he fails to get nominated, he would be willing to run as VP on any GOP ticket but Perry’s.
There is a difference. The headline says, in effect, “This is going to happen.” It should say, “This is what I’d do IF it happens.”
Cain supported him in 2008. I have real issues with Cain and his interpretation of the 1st and 2nd Amendments. He also lost me for good when he played the race card.
I’m wondering if Cain’s problem is a lack of precision of language. Maybe he just meant he didn’t want Perry to be the nominee when he said he couldn’t support him as the nominee.
You’re mistaken, I am not giving Cain a pass and I have never viciously attacked Perry.
Cain’s a rookie and shouldn’t be talking about vp positions right now, nor does he do his homework, obviously. As for Perry, I’d sooner see him win it than Cain, flawed though he is. (For one of several reasons, Perry’s learning curve wouldn’t be as steep as Cain’s.)
Why hasn't this been given more press? A governor, who claims to be conservative, but who allows outlaw cities in his own state to become sanctuaries for illegal invaders. This, to me, is much worse than his support for the "dream Act". He not only coddles illegal invaders, he allows cities in his state to flaunt the law against such sanctuary cities. Perry's about as conservative as Guiliani.
It's a bit late in the game now. All the conservative big guns are gone. Gingrich is really the only one there who is in a position where it could happen and I think he has all the support right now that he is going to get. I don't like him for President at all. I think he would make a great VP, though. Palin, Trump, Bachman,Perry, and Cain all come and gone or fading. All that seems to be left, and I do mean Left, is Romney. We had better pray for a conservative Senate and work harder than we have worked ever before to get one.
Romney or the kenyan will get the presidency and if the Senate is less than 50% hard core conservative the Left will get the USSC and the game is over permanently.
