That's the way it works. Uncoventional candidates can fire people up. They can poll well. They don't win. In the end voters play safe and cast ballots for conventional candidates.

Both Howard Dean and Pat Buchanan polled better at some early stage of the primary process than Cain does today. Both came acropper. Cain will too. The Republican Party will nominate either Rick Perry or Mitt Romney and Rush, in common with every rational conservative would prefer the former.

That's why Rush is trying to reduce the ridiculous Cain fever that so many conservatives seem to have come down with. It may seem like tough love, but it's really for your own good.

Been trying to tell people this but they won't listen. Too many have gone all gaga for Cain and are no longer thinking clearly. We've been down this road so many times, and yet folks fall for it again and again and again. Romney's strategy here is working like a charm. He knows Perry is the only candidate who can really raise the money and build the state organizations to challenge him. So Mitt uses Cain to to knock Perry out, knowing it will be a breeze for him to dispense with Herman later on. What he is doing is absolutely transparent, yet folks refuse to see it. Thankfully, at least Rush is letting people know.

Ha! Christie is as liberal as Romney! I suppose his followers will flock to Perry!

How would that be? If Christie endorsed Romney, his supporters would go to Romney. Not Perry.

The amount of Perry bashing on here is beyond unbelievable now. And your man Cain is going to prop him right into the winning spot as soon as he runs out of his 2.6 million dollars.

Just brilliant.

If Romney gets nomination, Obama will win. Our side will be so divided that 20% will stay home and 20% will vote 3rd party. That means 60% of what should defeat Obama won’t.

That is scary. We better defeat Romney, but we are up against the media and likely the business heads of most corporations who want Romney. This is scary.

I don’t understand why some of the conservatives who are not polling well (Bachmann, Santorum, Gingrich and even Perry) don’t just get out of the race now and back Cain. It is very frustrating.

Anyone who endorses Romney/RomneyCare/Socialism-Lite is automatically suspect in my book. Too bad about Christie.

>> “Cain is the closest thing we have to Palin, without having Palin.” <<

.
Obviously true, but he falls far short of filling her shoes. She had the broadest base of any of the candidates, and what she discarded was likely the election.

Perry is from the opposite end of the spectrum from Cain; he will do all he can to destroy Cain. I think Santorum will too.

Does this mean that Romney gets *BOTH* of Christie’s votes?

No, I think Perry will benefit by this endorsement. I really doubt Malibu Ken can win the nomination, much as the Establishment would like him to.

Acording only to the Establishment’s media. Not the voters.

Exactly.

Christie endorses Romney right after Cain beats Mitt in the poles. GOP elites are getting nervous.

New Jersey Liberal Endorses Massachusetts Liberal: Captain Obvious Reeling! /sarc

Chris Christie, Mr Yesterday’s News, unexpectedly endorsed Mitt Romney today.

Most commentators were stunned.

“This hit us by surprise!” they allowed. “We had keyed in on him as a liberal Romney clone, but we truly had expected him to endorse President Obama.”

Reached at his office, Christie remarked, “Get the hell out of my office you conservative-sounding swine! What do you think RINO means. Do I have to spell it for you?”

Cain is in it for Romney. He supported Romney in 2008 and will do it again this year. Cain was for Tarp, for the bailouts, and he was head of the Kansas City Fed. Cain is not a conservative. He’s popular because he’s the new kid on the block. Tonight he’ll do nothing but attack Perry again. He will have nothing bad to say about his RINO buddy Romney.

Rush must be reading my posts on here because that's what I've been preaching for the past 3 weeks. Go Rush!

Time for Sarah to open her mouth...not heard anything since except to know she’s out of the country...lot of good that will do. Palin needs to help end Romney or Obama wins. Simple math and chaos will prove that scenario. Romney wins, 20% stay home on our side and 20% vote for non-Romney, non-Obama...not even Nader can save that. In THAT scenario, Obama wins and the country is gone. Sarah, ramp it up now.

If you are saying that Cain is the Marlboro man, you are right. He has the looks. He has the substance. He has the brains. He has the plan. He has the determination. He has the people! Go Herman Cain!

If you want to support our next president, please send your most generous checks to:

Do not believe these polls that say Cain and Romney are way up on Perry in SC. No way in hades that the peoeple of SC will vote for a liberal Morman over a born again Christian in Perry. That’s the truth. They also know about Romney pro-abortion and pro-homosexual marriage past and do not trust him. These polls are being floated by the liberal media who are salivating for race between to liberals, as in Romney versus O-Bomb-a.

Then why is he polling so poorly?

Dunno! I don't pay much attention to polls. Question for you: remember how bad McCain's prospects were, four years ago today?
