GM should have moved all it’s Union workers into Pontiac and then let them sink or swim on their own.....
I think Ford Owning GM wouldn’t have been that bad.
A drowning man will grab for just about anything. This is no surprise and I do remember stories to this effect back then. This wouldn't have been anything new if they did merge. Most old Ford hot rods have small block Chevy motors in them.
I drive a Ford Corvette just doesn’t sound right.
The recent incidents and statements by Hoffa and Trumpka has sealed it for me regarding buying anything made by the UAW. Union thugs will not live off of my dime anymore.
Bill Vlasic says GM was in a pickle?
What is a "Phunny"?
Well, it’s better than taking a government bailout.
Autoline Detroit, a show on Detroit PBS hosted by John McElroy (Ward’s Automotive contributor), featured a gentleman by the name of Thomas Crumm whose book titled “What’s Good For General Motors” was discussed throughout the hour.
It’s one of those books on the industry I think is worth reading. Mr. Crumm seems a little out there but on the other hand, so is the industry as it continues in a direction that may be obsolete. General assembly line methods dependent upon just-in-time delivery of Tiers 1, 2 and 3 supplier parts and major assemblies is criticized for perhaps, having seen their day.
It’s big picture stuff with ‘game-changing’ ideas that may make some uncomfortable but they’re not outrageous because supposedly, their merits are supportable by real world data.
