It’s horrible and disgusting no matter what breed of dog it was, whether it was a cat, a horse, a hamster. I doubt this was done by a competitor, because dog-show people are crazy but not that crazy. Might have been some kind of warning about drugs, money owed, a romantic or sexual relationship, vengeance of some kind, but probably not about the show ring.

Times like this, I’m glad I believe in hell.

Just because someone breeds or shows an animal, doesn’t make them any less psychotic, just like there are fanatics in any type of hobby or business. I’ve met or know about a few individuals that I certainly wouldn’t put it past...

Some dog show people are that crazy. There was an email that went around a few years ago about an entire breeding program basically being wiped out by a competitor that poisoned the breeding dogs, but not the older ones. This was in French Bulldogs; the person travelled to shows with her entire “flock”, left them all alone at her set-up, crated, and someone came by and fed them some kind of poison. Sickening that someone would do it. I *never* left my GSP I was competing with unattended, even before hearing this story.
