Here is the Rick Perry comeback plan: Wow voters with specific jobs-policy proposals, and then charm them, one handshake at a time.
When Perry skyrocketed in the polls after entering the race, he did so thanks to his reputation of being a conservative governor who had an astounding job-creation record to tout in our era of persistently high unemployment.
But after several debate missteps (most notably, saying that those who disagreed with him on in-state tuition for illegal immigrants had no heart) and a relentless barrage of attacks from the Romney campaign that highlighted his flirtation with dramatically changing the Social Security system in his book Fed Up!, Perry has sunk in the polls rapidly in recent weeks. In three major polls released this week, he was in fourth place.
But his campaign is adamant that the Texas governor - who has never lost an election - will be able to claw his way back up in the polls by frequently visiting early primary states and gradually rolling out a series of economic proposals targeted at promoting job creation.
"The governor will be outlining, through a series of policy initiatives, a comprehensive approach to improving our economy and creating jobs."
"He's been underestimated before, been counted out before," Miner says. "And every time, he's proven them wrong."

The Republican Establishment’s War on Rick Perry

“The establishment also decided that upending Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s chances is the best way to ensure a Romney victory, since none of the other candidates in the race are very serious and the establishment utterly failed in coaxing NJ Gov. Chris Christie into the race.
Cain and Romney are also buddies. Cain endorsed Romney last time around and Romney finds various ways to praise Cain, even going so far as telling a NH crowd the other day that they could feel comfortable voting for him OR Cain.
Cain is in a position to play kingmaker, throwing his support to Romney at a critical juncture and putting him over the top, especially if the lower level right-wingers (Bachmann, Santorum) continue to hang around and leech out some of Perry’s Tea Party support. “

Support Cain, get Romney.
Perry ping
He is polling now at 50% and getting stronger.
I think he can win there (in Mexico).
No chance in the US where the heartless taxpayers still dominate.
Americans simply hate Perry for his last name /sarc
He came across pretty strong in the interviews he gave on his jobs roll out. That’s what this country cares about right now, jobs.
You are making a stupid statement, which is illogical and there is not a shred of evidence for it.
On the other hand, there is plenty of evidence that Cain is there to help Romney and is angling to be Romney’s VP.
We posted several articles, including Cain’s own statement along those lines.
“He is polling now at 50% and getting stronger.
I think he can win there (in Mexico).”
LOL! I was about to ask if you had access to a GOP establishment poll.
Give it up RINO troll. Support senor ricarrdo hussein perrynista and get the continued destruction of our nation by the twin evils that are his muslim/islam and illegals pals. He is 100% as bad as Mitt and Paul. Anyone who supports this fraud Perry fella also supports the ongoing invasion of America by illegals and the muslims. Nice, real nice.
Romney doesn’t have room to criticize Perry about anything. He’s a complete liar holding multiple positions on every issue!
FUMR!!
From the looks of it, there are two chief competitors for the "not Romney" slot in the primaries, Cain and Perry. Perry may be down now but candidates have been known to come back from oblivion (as McCain did in the 2008 primaries). It may be better for conservatives to have a fall-back if Cain doesn't have staying power. I know a lot of people have written off Perry over the immigration issue, but he is a lot more conservative than Romney...if Perry drops out and Cain falters, we would have Romeny by default.
It might work, if he can convince people to listen to him. He’s discredited himself to the point that this will be difficult, but I would not say impossible... yet.
..or support Cain and his empowerment zones which is another entitlement!
Romney/Cain what a ticket!
Anyone who’s got this election all figured out is nuts.
Whatever my problems with Perry, his ‘heartless’ comment isn’t one of them. I couldn’t care less what any politician says rhetorically—they’re not running for Best Friend. They have all—every single candidate I’ve ever voted for—said things I disagree with. Who cares?
It’s his history of policies and his plans for the future that will determine if he gets my support or not.
Pathetic attempt!
Lol - Cain supported Romney and it was posted earlier that Romney complemented Cain on his business ability. Romney/Cain ticket seems to be in the works.
I am surprised you are still supporting this guy. We are a conservative website who supports the most conservative candidate in the primary and that is Cain. Plus Perry is a 5 percenter. Last week some were saying that anyone under 7 percent should not even be invited to the debates and should drop out and support Cain. I suppose you will support Perry tip he finally drops out like many here did with Thompson....
