Looking Toward 2012, Obama Finds North Carolina Less Receptive
By MARK LANDLER

Published: October 17, 2011

BOONE, N.C. — Loading up on Halloween candy at a store in this friendly college town on Monday, President Obama could probably imagine winning North Carolina in 2012, as he did in 2008, when he became the first Democrat since Jimmy Carter to do so.

But hours earlier and a hundred miles away, Mr. Obama got a less warm and fuzzy reception from a lunch crowd at Countryside Barbeque in Marion. Only a few diners rose to shake his hand, while others were vocal in their complaints.

**SNIP**

“If they vote against taking steps that we know will put Americans back to work right now,” Mr. Obama said, “then they’re not going to have to answer to me, they’re going to have to answer to you.”

...when he became the first Democrat since Jimmy Carter to do so.

And we all know how that mess ended up.

Bob Barr is why Obama won NC. No. Other. Reason.

I disagree. It was the influx of northeastern Yankees along with Obama’s professed skin color that won him NC.

Look @ the vote totals. Barr got near 16,000 votes that would have put “that RINO senator from AZ/Governor Palin” over the top. Just raining cold hard facts.

Raining bullcrap is more like it. The election wouldn’t even have been that close if the Republicans had a decent nominee who didn’t need a VP to drag him over the finish line.

When you blame the guy who got the 16k votes and not the people who created the situation that caused those 16k votes to matter, you are being part of the problem and not part of the solution.

I don’t create reality but you seem to have a problem dealing with it. I reported a fact. A quantifiable fact. 16,000 votes that would have made a difference. You don’t like it? Write a letter to the editor.

I was in the Asheville airport yesterday whn Air Force One landed and Obama got on the bus for his 10 mile ride into town. The airport was shut down for about an hour. After my wife had gotten home from dropping me off she told me buses we had seen on the way to the airport were not carrying leaf peepers as we thought but instead Obama’s pre screened crowd for his “speech”.

NC Governor Bev Perdue can use her welcoming speech to the Dem convention as a rehearsal for her concession speech..

It’s a ‘quantifiable fact’, eh?

So, Bob Barr ran in a vacuum and the fact that McCain ran a lousy campaign was also his fault, right?

You’re a hack apologist for the RINO status quo.

If you had an editor to write to, he already would have stopped you from making an ass of yourself with your posts.

1. The vote tallies are a matter of history, therefore, quantifiable.
2. I made no statement regarding McCain’s campaign. I didn’t even mention McCain in my original post, did I? I didn’t even name him in my second post, did I?
I IMPLIED the Barr votes would have gone to the Republican candidate but even that is questionable, although likely.
3. You maintain the screen name that honors the ultimate RINO hack, so I wouldn’t toss the first stone if I were you.
4. King of all RINO hack honorer.

Just remember folks, only 200 people showed up to greet Obama at the Ashville, NC airport. Obama is in real trouble, and.... if the Democrat Party does not force him to resign, Democrats will go down to defeat with Obama, come November, 2012!!!

The SRM mad this clown and the SRM can take him down. The problem for hussein is that more people are getting their news from the new media. The Internet and talk radio are telling the truth and they have no way to counter that.

The fact that you didn’t mention McCain is what was WRONG with your post in the first place. Who the hell cares about how many votes Bob Barr got and how ‘quantifiable’ that is? If McCain hadn’t stunk on ice, Bob Barr wouldn’t have mattered at all.

Don’t worry your pretty little head about my screen name. Judging by your apparently limited cognitive ability, it is likely pointless to bother explaining the origin of the name. You haven’t been here long enough to know where it came from anyway.

You’re the one here who is blaming others for the results of the RINO status quo, not me.

Realistically we have to talk about the national results though. Even if McCain had won North Carolina, Obama still would have won the election easily.
