Jimmy is a smart guy.
He also has over $100 million in career winnings.
At this point in his life, I’m sure he wants to enjoy the rest of it.

I miss souped up cars, but with some of the drivers around these days, going much faster is not worth the cautions and casualties likely to follow, heck, it'll be a mute point next year..

Here comes electronic fuel injection.

If a lot of change is good, even more will turn the sport back to being a local attraction.. and maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Fueled by technology
NASCAR will be trading in the tried-and-true carburetor at the end of the year in favor of electronic fuel injection.
A panel of engine experts provide some clues as to how and why.

That’s probably true, but I am not seeing the drivers clamoring for more speed.

In any event, with respect to Jimmie, for a guy who didn’t come up in USAC, he sure likes to run his mouth about open wheel racing. He should probably stick to what he knows.

Everything is so standardized these days. I would really like to see NASCAR and IndyCar loosen the rules like the old days so you can really have some innovation. I’d love to see the modern day version of someone showing up at Indy with a rear engine car for the first time. Too many rules, too much standardization.

Let’s just everyone race IROC.

Two eggs are sitting in a frying pan and one egg turns to the other and says “It looks like we’re done for.” The second egg looks back and says “Oh my God, a talking egg!”

It’s cookie cutter racing,, makes it cheaper the bosses say for the teams to field cars,, hard to tell most cars apart as is these days.. and they’re built like tanks.. and handle like them too.. why is the fan base tuning in other stuff?

The list as to why is far from short.. and growing..

"Too many rules, too much standardization."

They may as well call it the Soap Box NASCAR Derby with their Kit Cars.

There was a 5.3 earthquake that looks like it was maybe 200 miles NW of you. It was shallow, about 6 miles deep. Did you feel it?
