COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - At his third and final stop of a one-day swing through the state of Iowa, Mitt Romney did his best to keep the focus on the economy, but ended up addressing both his faith and President Obama's role in bringing down Libyan dictator Muammar el-Qaddafi.
Asked by reporters as he was leaving the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce whether the president deserves some credit for the death of the ousted Libyan leader, Romney said: "Yes. Yes, absolutely."
At an earlier town hall in Sioux City, Romney expressed satisfaction at Qaddafi's demise. "I think it's about time. Qaddafi (was a) terrible tyrant that killed his own people, and murdered Americans and others in the tragedy in Lockerbie. The world is a better place with Qaddafi gone."
Some of Romney's rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, including Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, issued statements hailing the dictator's demise. But Romney was the only candidate to suggest, albeit under questioning, that Obama's policy in the region played a role.
Republicans have been sharply divided - but almost unanimously critical - of Obama's Libya policy, which was supportive of the rebels but let Europe take the lead role. Obama's 2008 presidential rival, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., wanted the president to do more, while one of this year's Republican presidential hopefuls, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, opposed any intervention in Liby, even though he called Qaddafi a "bad guy."

Romney is a political WHORE, entirely lacking in judgment. He is clueless, has no idea where the party is, where the people are and that the Country needs a major Constitutional counter revolution.
I agree. Mormons are generally very patriotic, conservative with Christian values of the importance of family, hard work and honesty. I am pretty well convinced their religious philosophy is totally out of alignment with Christianity but in America we are are equal under the laws of the land.

For me there are reasons to disagree with Romney but religion isn’t one of them.
We do have freedom of religion in this country and if I was able to start eliminating religions then Islam would be at the top of my list, not Mormonism.
Hate clown? Hardly. Don’t mistake gentle joking with hate. I’m sure some of my Baptist quirks may come off as funny or odd to you or others, and that’s fine. I’m comfortable enough in my own skin to not thiknk I’m above being joked about. Not respected or hated is something completely different, however.

I think it is perfectly reasonable to consider a candidate's religion when choosing whether to support him. If some candidate was a Scientologist or Raelian most Americans would consider that candidate's religion a disqualifying factor. So why is it illegitimate to make this same judgement for other religions?

The Mormons I know have good values. Hard-work, family and self-reliance within their community. They never ask for a government handout. I’ve never had a bad dealing with a Mormon. Mitt Romney is actually the one Mormon I can say with certainty is untrustworthy.
Are they quirky? Yes, but in an Amish/Quaker sort of way. They are not Muslim parasites.
Mitt’s Mormonism has nothing to do with my opposition to him, just like Obama’s half-blackness has nothing to do with why I oppose him.
