Drunk 11-Year-Old At Occupy Missoula, Adult Arrested

MISSOULA, Mont. -- Missoula police say an 11-year-old boy turned up drunk on the courthouse lawn, from the Occupy Missoula encampment early Thursday morning. That's the group protesting corporate greed.
Police say one of the camp's occupants bought the youngster alcohol. Twenty-seven year old John Skinner was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
The police report said Skinner encountered the boy and a friend outside a downtown Missoula bar. Police say the friend asked Skinner to buy them alcohol.
They say Skinner invited the boy and his friend into his tent so he could "keep an eye on him." But they said Skinner didn't call 911 or emergency medical technicians.
Police said the boy had permission to be out late at night. But they found the boy unconscious and vomiting on the courthouse lawn.

I like that non-judgemental language: the boy "turned up drunk." Not "he got drunk" or "he was allowed to get drunk" or "he was illegally given alcohol by an adult participant in the Occupy Missoula demonstration." No.
Why, he just "turned up drunk." He might have fallen from the sky, like a meteor that couldn't leave it alone. He might have sprung from the courthouse lawn, like a dipsomaniacal dandelion. Who the hell knows? Anything can happen in Missoula Montana, if you just pitch a tent in a public space and wait long enough.
It’s a good thing he didn’t die from hypothermia. It was pretty chilly the last couple of nights here in southern North Carolina, cold enough for a passed-out drunk to take a serious chill, at least.
It was osmosis. No one was responsible.
Boy, this sure brings back memories of that TEA Party last July.

I will say, I bet they (the parents) vote dem.
(side note:) Nice name, only way it could be better is if you added a “Go” in front,(JK) obviously a Huskers fan here.
Go see if he’s posting. I would do it , but, I have never been there myself, wouldn’t even know where to start. If it is anything like here you could see the time of his posts, it would be funny to see if his posts stop at the time of arrest.

Chances are the kid’s parents were themselves busy getting stewed or stoned. Papa, quite possibly, is not even in the picture.
