WASHINGTON - Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the self-proclaimed outsider vowing to make federal government "as inconsequential in your life as I can," huddled privately in the nation's capital Friday with the consummate insiders - lobbyists, trade association executives, foreign policy experts and hefty campaign donors, including veterans of past GOP presidential campaigns and administrations.

The campaign declined to disclose the governor's schedule...

Scheming with D.C. insider hacks should put a big dent into Perry’s campaign war chest.

Actually I suspect this is arm twisting designed to get him to back off their GOP Establishment pet Romney.

I don’t really care about how much money he has. Money doesn’t translate into votes.

My current congressman fought off 5 GOP challengers and a democrat incumbent on less than half the money raised by the democrat alone.

“Most folks in Washington are comfortable with Mitt Romney because he spent six years courting Washington,” said Blalock, also a Perry donor. “Few people know Rick Perry because he has been focused on Texas. This was an opportunity for some people here to hear his message directly.”

Sums it up pretty well.

Hmm in 1993 Cain was one of the leaders fighting Clinton Care, the precursor to Obama care. What was Perry doing in 1993?

Why Perry was actively campaigning FOR Hillary-care!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Perry#Early_political_career

In April 1993, Perry, while serving as Texas agriculture commissioner, expressed support for the effort to reform the nation's health care, describing it as “most commendable”.[27] The health care plan, first revealed in September, was ultimately unsuccessful due to Republican congressional opposition.[28][29][30][31][32] In 2005, after being questioned on the issue by a potential opponent in the Republican governor primary, Perry said that he expressed his support only in order to get Clinton to pay more attention to rural health care.[33]

Perry as a good shot at te nom and he won’t be kind to Obama if he gets it.

Oh for Pete’s sake. This is pure hypocrisy on the media’s part.

OF COURSE Perry’s trying to find more money.

I didn’t believe in unilateral disarmament in the cold war, nor do I believe a candidate with these campaign finance rules in place is sane if he doesn’t go for every last dime he can legally get.

Obama will have a billion dollars.

Romney is worth hundreds of millions with access to more from both overt and covert donors.

And you expect Perry to not load up with ammunition? What kind of idiot reporter is this?

I'm not sure who to go for. Perry seems maybe our only chance. Romney is totally a butt. Paul scares me. Michelle is too weak. The rest, except Newt who is extremely intelligent, witty, and a hard core Constitutionalists, are junk.
