On October 14 a Tunisian television station aired “Persepolis,” an animated movie about a girl coming of age during the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. The film won the Jury Prize at the 2007 Cannes film festival, but its depiction of Allah as an old, bearded man upset Tunisia’s ultra-conservative Muslim radicals.
After two days of mostly peaceful protests, one group estimated to be as large as 100 men rioted — torching the home of Nabil Karoui, the TV station’s top executive. Witnesses said the rioters arrived in taxicabs, armed with Molotov cocktails and knives. A similar group attempted to attack the TV station itself.
Karoui, his own home in ruins, apologized for airing the film.

Who ever came up with that saying? Was it Bush? Was he being sarcastic? Because I for one would like to see or read about one freakin’ example where Islam has ever promoted peace. I mean that’s something you say about pacifists not these freakin’ psychos who seem to only use death for every little bout of contention they have. Cartoons? Death. Pic of Mohammed? Death. And BTW; Since they name 99.9999% of each other Mohammed, if they took a pic of that Mohammed, wouldn’t that also bring death? Gays? Death. Women? Death, just cause they’re women. Sneeze? Death. Breathe? Death death death death.

You probably remember the case where they beat a Christian schoolgirl in Pakistan and got her family into serious trouble because of sloppy penmanship — a misplaced dot — which made a noun meaning “a poem in praise of Mohammed” (which appeared on a school quiz in Urdu) read like a verb meaning “to damn.” They’re way too uptight in Mooseland to laugh off goofy errors like that.

President Bush said that islam was a peaceful religion at the 9-11 memorial service.
I find this really hard to believe. I was just reading in the USA today that my sister brought over that Tunisia is a wonderful example of the “Arab Spring” - and they are doing well with the election process, peaceful campaigns, etc.
I would excerpt the article, but it was used to start the fire tonight. (And here I thought that paper wasn’t good for anything!)
Hmmm, with the time of year, will this (along with the violence in Egypt) be under the headlines “Arab Fall”?
Bet it would drive the moosies nuts if ya came out with a butt wipe paper with a picture of mohamed on each piece.
The total lack of a sense of humor within islam is one of its glass jaws. We should hit it at every chance.
