Just how electable is a candidate like Perry who, despite being Governor of the state for 10 years, cannot even persuade a majority of his own Texas state party to vote for him?

Some Texan voiced earlier Texans did not want to loose Perry..in fact they would back another Repub for president. The Repub that would replace Perry up against a Democrat is accused of being way too Liberal. I just remember that one statement from a caller..don't need to fix Texas, it is not borken scenario.

They are happy just as they are..while the rest of the states are pleading poverty and business won't settle where they are. They like their separation--everything is bigger and richer in Texas. Texans are proud to live in Texas. They are proud to fly the American flag, drive Big SUV's and fast cars; and have no problem having framed photos with George Bush displayed on the wall. Even to the extent of proudly announcing The Bush Family lives nearby.

States if run right can pretend the rest of the country does not exist... limited isolationism on the state level.

The divide among Texas freepers is interesting.

Half of them hate his guts but most of the most rabid Perrybots have a Texas flag flying on their FR page.
