When I see Perry look at Romney I see seething hatred in his eyes, I just don't see him suddenly dropping the vendetta against Romney to focus all his energy on attacking Cain, who you can clearly see he honestly likes.

That doesn't mean Perry wont take a pot shot at Cain every now and then when given the opportunity, but I can't see him ever going after Cain with the same venom he has been going after Romney. With Romney, it's personal.

Well, but what the facts show is that Perry and Romney are old buddies. Romney helped fund Perry’s campaigns in Texas:

We’ll see how this develops, but I’d bet money that Perry will launch a blitzerkrieg against Cain when the time comes. His phony campaign against Romney is all about misdirection and he is doing no real damage.

You and I are seeing the same thing! Even his look towards Cain is gentler - you can see it change when he focuses back on Mitt with one of Mitt’s attacks. Mitt needs to work on his acting skills because he makes things obvious - he attacks Perry but not Cain. And Cain is passing him in the polls.
