We are all Scott Olsen’:Occupy protesters hold vigil for injured veteran [ Unions did this ! ]

OAKLAND, CALIF.—Anti-Wall Street demonstrators held vigils for an Iraq War veteran seriously injured during a protest clash with police in California as some occupy encampments came under growing pressure from authorities to abandon sites in parks and plazas.

A crowd of at least 1,000 people, many holding candles, gathered Thursday night in Oakland in honour of 24-year-old Scott Olsen, who is hospitalized with a fractured skull.

In Nashville, police cracked down overnight on an Occupy protest camp near the Capitol under a new policy setting a curfew for the complex. They moved in a little after 3 a.m. and arrested about 30; they later were released. About 20 protesters who stayed on a nearby sidewalk were not arrested and were still there later in the morning as state troopers stood guard at the steps to the Capitol.

In Britain, meanwhile, church and local government officials in London said Friday they would go to court to evict anti-capitalist protesters camped outside St. Paul's Cathedral, as the iconic church reopened after a weeklong closure

Protesters also held a vigil for Olsen in Las Vegas, which drew a handful of police officers. Afterward, protesters invited them back for a potluck dinner.

"We renewed our vow of nonviolence," organizer Sebring Frehner said.

The Marine veteran, who won medals in Iraq, has become a rallying cry for the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators across the nation, with Twitter users and protest websites declaring, "We are all Scott Olsen."

Last night the news was saying the hospital has him listed in “fair” condition. He’s been using the phone (probably setting up his talk show tour)

There is no site at:

http://www.ihatethemarines.com

Are you saying the injured ex-marine IS the one who founded the site that doesn’t exist?

Yep, it greatly reduces the emotional impact that the left would have definately exploited.
Now, people see Olsen more as someone who could have avoided the whole incident if he would have heeded the police warning to disperse.

A passing car had Rush on, cranked way up, with the window open. It nearly exploded his skull.

I hate the Marine Corps. Do you?

My name is Scott Olsen and I hate the Marine Corps more than you. Prove me wrong.

Best news ever for nonmotivators set to EAS in the next few months: FY10 VOLUNTARY ENLISTED EARLY RELEASE PROGRAM (VEERP)

People could understand why people may hate the circumstances people are presented with while in the military but the actual Marine Corps has never done wrong by nobody. I’m proud to say one day I’ll hold the title Marine and if I feel I have nothing more to offer to the Corps but negative thoughts and actions I’ll stop at my 4 yr active status stint.

Hate those who have done you wrong by their wrong doings but don’t hate the service that impliments your freedoms stateside.

then this one time i was in a helicopter and somebody shot the rear rotor out. as we were spinning frantically, and everyone was like OH MY GOD WERE ALL GONNA DIE” i climbed to where the rear rotor was and aimed my ass in the right direction and let out a non stop fart that stablized the chopper.

I graduated boot camp about six months ago. I have a close friend who did 8 years as 0311 as active-duty and pretty much persuade me to go with a reserve contract. Tells me the same shit you guys talk about here, glad he warned me and changed my mind on going active-duty. My recruiter was always pushing an active-duty contract but I always turned it down, then after I told him I wanted reserves he kept fucking regarding a MOS saying he can’t get my that job and blah blah blah. Scored a 89 on the ASVAB and he wouldn’t let me do what I wanted to do as reserve but pretty much told me if I go active-duty I can get into whatever job field I like. Make a long story short I pissed off my recruiter and my buddy who’s a former 0311 Marine and I went to the recruiting office and he pretty much told my dick head recruiter and his Staff Sergeant to stop acting like a couple fags, stop trying to fuck me over and give me what I wanted or we’ll walk over to the next office which was the Army recruiting office. That same day I signed a 0313 reserve contract, and was off to MEPS the next few days. After my buddy talked shit to my recruiter, my recruiter was pissed off and you could tell he didn’t like me. I never attended any of the Poolee functions maybe attended 2-3 PT’s before I pissed him off. Well, anyways so far I enjoy being a reserve, boot camp was a great experience, tough, depressing and all that good stuff. Btw, I appreciate all of you guys who are active-duty I feel bad that you guys don’t like it and it didn’t go the way you thought it would go.

Btw: Those “Bad Ass” Marines who like to chew out poolees over the internet who ask simple questions on leatherneck.com can go fuck themselves. Also To the dyke who chewed me out through a Private message because I said, “Aight Cool, thanks bro” to a gunnery sergeant can go fuck herself also.

It’s funny that the most motivated people on this site are Poolees.

The Corps is a bunch of loser ass individuals that think since they joined the Corps it would make them hardcore. I’ve been in for five years and everyday I’m reminded of that FACT. The truth is if you’re a shittie person before you joined you’re a shittie person in the Marine Corps. NOW, I have met a few SNCO’s that actually know how to treat Marines. A Marine should use his OR her(her, lol)rank for the Marine and not against them.

BTW, I’m typing this from a NMCI computer.

This is my fart. There are many like it this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my fart is useless. Without my fart I am useless. I must blow my fart true. I must fart smellier than the enemy who is trying to kill me. I must fart on him before he farts on me. My fart and I know that what counts in war is not the smells we make, the noise of the ass, or the dingleberries we make. We know it is the farts that count. We will fart.

Hey I’ve got a couple questions for anyone who’s ever EASed out of Japan. About how long did it take for your TMO shipment to come in and is there any way to track it? There’s a website I signed up for right after I scheduled my TMO shipment but now that I’m on a civilian computer I can’t go onto it and look around because you can only access it from a government computer. There are no military bases near here. I had a buddy of mine pop on and do some snooping around and he couldn’t find anything. It’s been about a month and a half now and I’m not overly concerned but starting to get there. Thanks.

I’m currently in college and sometimes I regret not going to bootcamp. I’ve read all the comments and this website change my perspective about the Marines. This website made me change my decision about the Corps when I was a poolie. I’m considering two options, I either want to work at the high paying job I’m working hard towards, or I want to renlist back into the DEP. I’ve always wanted to become a Marine; yeah I know about the b.s. that comes along with it, but this has been my dream since I was a kid. I’m native american and majority of my family were Marines. I honestly couldn’t see myself in any other branch. Respectfully (please no farts), what would you guys do in my situation. Plus I have a girl I love to death, but I just need help from you guys... to weight the pros and cons.

Well, Just had my third look for First Sergeant, didn’t get it. Not sure what they are looking for here, I guess because I am not out for myself, trying to fuck the troops over and busy sucking off officers I will not be promoted. I guess I can live with that! At least I have my dignity. Well, kind of..........I still wasted my time though.

I have been on this site before to see if there were any good reasons not to join the Marine Corps, but from what I can tell the only people that don’t like the Marines have the intelligence of a house fly. look no matter what you do in life, if your a fucking idiot your going to be treated like an idiot, try reading a book. Oh ya and stop bitching about getting in trouble for fucking up on something, that happens in any job too, suck it up and be a man. Everyone on here should be proud to be Marines, not crying about it.

The claim is that he was hit by a tear gas canister but I don’t think any serious investigation of it has been done.

Personally I don’t care one way or the other. He’s the one who chose to lay with dogs.

They aren't all ex-Marines (and Scott Olsen qualifies for the unusual application of "ex-Marine", along with other "ex-Marines" such as Lee Harvey Oswald, John Murtha and Jerimiah Wright) but they are all brainless, left-wing Marxist idiots.

The question remains, how could a 6 oz tear gas canister fracture a grown man's skull?

Normally it'd take a rock or bottle to do that... were there any folks throwing rocks and bottles around there?
