“”The policies are important, but the rhetoric is sometimes the impediment...”
So is Rubio getting Potomac fever and worrying what the propaganda press might write about him?
No...it's NOT senscile.
Tip-toeing around to garner Latino support for the parasites crossing DAILY is not "sensible"; it's POLITICAL RHETORIC that ignores the problem.
Now, that said, I believe Military presence along the border, an electrified fence (as Cain suggested), and claymores should slow down the influx, coupled with Nation-wide denial of ALL benefits afforded Citizens of the USA, unless you are a Citizen.
Yep, that’s the thing. Rubio can be 100% fine on virtually all other issues, but if he’s yet another damned pro-amnesty/pro-illegals GOP-er, it all then becomes moot. It wipes out every single ‘positive’ from the slate.
Amen.
BIG ISSUES mean more than the small ones, and on this one, he's full of crap.
He's pretty much exactly right. I am all for the border fence and shipping back every illegal in the country, but conservative had better figure out a way to discuss these things without allowing themselves to be painted as anti-immigrant and anti-Hispanic. That means when talking about these things you start by saying how much we value legal immigration and the contributions of people who come here, and THEN discuss the issue in the least hostile way possible.
It really seems like a lot of folks just don't want to accept the demographic disaster building against conservatives/Republicans. People should look closely at California and realize that is what will likely happen in Texas and other states if we continue losing the Hispanic vote by these massive margins. A very good case can be made that we lost the senate races in both Colorado and Nevada in 2010 due to increased Hispanic turnout for Democrats (yes, Angle was a bad candidate but Buck wasn't). If a time comes where Hispanics vote for Democrats in the same percentage blacks do, no conservative (as we currently know them) is likely to win a national election again. Oh the Republican party remain an opposition force, but the need to remain at least viable will make the party even more RINO on immigration than it is now.
The point is, speak against illegal immigration but be mindful not to make Hispanics think we hate them. Yes it's tough, the media will always try to paint Republicans in the worst light possible and try to make Hispanics hate us. Still, we do have to be mindful to deal with this issue as carefully as possible. We simply don't have a choice.
He says all the right things until you tweek immigration.
The Truth never needs to be toned down, unless you hate the truth.
A-men!
***Neutered Alert***
“help them win over the fast-growing Hispanic population, but the Florida senator says toned-down rhetoric on the hot-button issue of immigration would be more likely to bring those voters to the GOP.”
Who would we win over? Hispanics who are traitors because they are more loyal to race than to country? Or foreigners all the way down to Tierra del Fuego who oddly think they have a right to US citizenship because they are hispanic?
Screw them,, and Rubio.
So Newt’s adviser on Hispanic issues thinks Rubio has to tone it down?
I like Rubio — but he’s dead wrong on illegal immigration.
“but conservative had better figure out a way to discuss these things without allowing themselves to be painted as anti-immigrant and anti-Hispanic”
I have a better idea,, how about American hispanics be expected to suppport America before the interests on uneducated rabble from Mexico, Central America, and South America with absolutely no historical tie to territory in the USA. I do not feel any responsibility to placate a traitor, hispanic of not, who values the interests of foreigners above those of their nation.
What a charade to pretend that 99% of these Mexicans, Salvadorans, Etc etc,, have EVER had an ancestor living inside the present borders of the USA. Its a farce..
I like Rubio — but he’s dead wrong on illegal immigration.
Another one bites the dust.
