Reversing the current president's systematic dismantling of the Founders' Republic should be the primary goal and aim of any true conservative candidate. Destroying the reputations of fellow fighters in that cause should be a disqualifier for anyone who is found to participate in or persist in that kind of competition.

If your worst nightmare as President was the rise of a star whose very authenticity and appeal could capture the imagination, spirit and enthusiasm of your largest voting block, as well as the independents, why would you not try to knock him out before he had campaigned through a Primary and had achieved the status of Candidate?
