The fact that he paid a settlement doesn’t look good either. I support Perry over Cain, but if Cain is innocent, he needs to address this issue, not ignore it. The left will grow it if he doesn’t fight it.

Another Perrybot heard from. You wouldn't know a fact from a turd. The NRA stated over the weekend that Cain fought the accusation and wasn't party to the agreement. He paid no such settlement; the NRA did on their own after he had left the organization (and before the claim was made, BTW). Nor was he party to the settlement. And because of that, he had no idea what was coming out from the accused because he wasn't a party and Politico refused to tell him what was going to come out.

Either get your facts straight or stop posting swill.

He’s already addressed it publicly.

If the Dems had their way, he would have to continually address it from here to Kingdom Come.

I read that his name wasn’t on the settlement agreements.

cain didn’t pay anything.

The association paid the girls to go away with their ridiculous accusations.

He didn’t pay a settlement, his association did.

It means nothing to pay a small settlement. It is cheaper than lawyer fees and keeps publicity down. If the association had fought it, it would have created bad publicity that would have created a bad reputation that would have been even more expensive to repair.

It sucks, but that’s the way it is. Anybody can create this kind of accusation and pretty much get away with it, because no matter how true it is or how the accused deals with it, he’s hooped. Even if he wins in court and completely proves his innocence, his reputation is in almost-permanent disrepair.

I agree. That non-disclosure agreement and $427,000 settlement Rick Perry paid out to Chris Bell last year does concern me a little bit.

"he needs to address this issue, not ignore it."

I am racking my brain trying to think of a public figure that has successfully defended himself from the charge of sexual harassment. And by successfully defended himself I mean he retained the support of the public. The only one I can think of the Bill Clinton, and Clinton had the MSM entirely on his side. I am not sure "addressing" the issue will do much good. In fact I can't think of anything Cain himself can do, but one thing that could be very helpful would be if all of the GOP candidates and leaders came out in support of Cain. Right now would be a bit premature to do that, let's hear what this accuser has to say and if it sounds politically motivated then come out on Cain side.
