Media Outlets Struggle To Describe White House Chief Of Staff Bill Daley’s Demotion
by Colby Hall | 7:39 am, November 8th, 2011

The nation is just waking up today to learn the rather huge political news that Chief of Staff Bill Daley‘s role at the White House is changing, with many outlets reporting that he is moving into a more of a “big picture” or “ambassador” role in the Obama administration. The news of Daley’s evolving role at the White House, however, is just about as unclear and muddied as the administration’s detractors claim the White House policies to be; is he being demoted? Is this move a recognition by President Obama that the last 11 months under Daley have been a political mess? Media outlets have all reported Daley’s new role in different ways, which might provide more insight if we look at them as a whole.

Day-to-day operational duties are reportedly going to Pete Rouse, who filled in when Rahm Emanuel left the job for a successful mayoral bid in Chicago. Rouse is reportedly very close to Obama, and many insiders look back at the interim period in which Rouse served as Chief of Staff as a favorable period for the President. Specifically, this was the brief period, following last year’s mid-terms, in which Obama got a number of key legislative victories, including the extension of unemployment benefits, the START treaty and the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Daley was announced as the new Chief of Staff in the first week in January.

Since Bialek worked for Daley’s Chicago Cheif os Staff when he was mayor, maybe he’s being put in charge of republican bimbo outings.

Wow, dissing Daley is going to sever Bobo’s chief emissary to the PUMAs. Fast Eddie can’t carry that load by himself.

Signal to the mainstream dems that he is washing his hands of Obama? Time to watch the big dem donors actions. I am wondering about what’s going to hit the fan at the WH to allow someone to step in an challenge Obama in the primaries.

Solyndra or F & F are the two leading contenders for the public mess. Hillary to challenge? If not her?

It appears to give someone in the dem party a viable excuse to run without looking like a racist.

Ummmmm - didn't that have more to do with the fact that the Republicans hadn't moved into their new offices, and the Democrats hadn't moved out, yet?

I strongly doubt that Daley was demoted.

Rouse is the one who started the vicious attacks on Governor Palin.

Obama is campaigning, still.

They can call it a ‘shakeup’ if they want. It’s just a planned move in Obama’s campaign. Remember, it’s supposed to be the worst we’ve seen, yet.

Do you have a source on that? I presume you mean Sheila O’Grady? (Who has since 2007 headed up the Illinois Restaurant Association, which is separate from the NRA, where Bialek hasn’t worked for over a decade.)

I read that they are moving him to what he’s good at: Shaking down the limo-globalists for money and offering fascist schemes. He’s the new Czar of Fascism.

ooooohh....looks like he lost a power struggle with Valerie Jarrett. Not good! He and Panetta seemed to have the only set of functioning brain cells in the whole building.

Here’s hoping for some vindictive leaks!
