White House on Obama-Sarkozy exchange: President committed to Israel

As part of damage control after US, French leaders overheard ridiculing Israeli premier, deputy national security advisor tells reporters 'Obama has taken security cooperation with Israel to unprecedented levels'

WASHINGTON – US President Barack Obama has a "very close working relationship with Prime Minister Netanyahu. They speak very regularly," Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes said Wednesday, days after Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy were overheard ridiculing the Israeli leader during a private exchange at the G20 summit in Cannes.

Briefing reporters at the White House, Rhodes said, "I think they've probably spent more time one on one than any other leader that the president has engaged in. That's rooted in the fact that the US and Israel share a deep security relationship but also a values-based relationship.

"I think our actions speak very loudly, which is that this president has taken security cooperation with Israel to unprecedented levels. He has stood up time and again against delegitimization of Israel – whether it's the Goldstone report, the flotilla or, of course, most recently, Palestine efforts to see unilateral measures at the UN to shortcut negotiations," he said.

President committed to Israel

ROTFL!!! We've got a bunch of wild and crazy guys in this administration. It's a good thing 40% of the people living in this country are braindead morons who believe everything they see and hear on the MSM nightly news. If they didn't, Barry's poll numbers would be hoving around 0 right now.

Ynet repeated that phony story that the...ultra Orthodox planned to stone a dog because some nasty lawyer inhabited the dog; etc.

Ynet would not withdraw that story even though I pointed out that the original source, the Maariv, apologized for it. I don't trust ynet and take everything they say with a grain of salt now.

We all get our stories wrong once in awhile. The point is that when we realize they are wrong we tract it. Ynet is an unreliable source for anything!

“President committed...”

Shoot.
I had my hopes up that he had been hauled off to Bellevue.

Yeah, sure. Like that time that Netanyahu visited the White House, and Obama couldn't be bothered to come out of the back room to greet him. Let alone ask him for dinner.

Kind of like the time when the Dalai Llama was shown out the back door past the garbage cans, so as not to offend Communist China.

That's startlingly similar to what Sarkozy said:

“Israel has no better security partner than France when it comes to Iran,” Sarkozy assured the Jewish leaders, according to the sources.

The thing I like about this is how so many of the haters of Israel and haters of Jews are gonna stroke out in a torrent of “Zionist Occupation Gov’t” skinhead paranoia. Thanks SJackson.

Obammy’s “moderate” Muslim Brotherhood’s invasion of the US government and all the governments surrounding Israel in the name of “arab spring” and “democracy” are actions Obama has taken and that will result in a major attack on Israel. Jimmah Carter’s “democracy” handiwork in Iran has now progressed to produce radical Islam’s nukes aimed at Israel.

Obama has already set it all in motion and if a Republican comes into office in the next election, he won’t be able to stop it. He’s brought change to the Middle East in a way that is really bad for Israel and America.
